“Worst Wyndham Sea Gardens Timeshare ever stayed at”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

-I booked a hotel room through RCI at the Wyndham Sea Gardens in Pompano Beach for Jan 7-14, 2012 . I was looking forward to this vacation to celebrate my birthday. I am actually a VIP owner of the Wyndham Timeshare resorts, so I was feeling very comfortable about booking this resort. We finally arrived there on 7th, around 10 pm at night. When I walked into the room, it was like MOTEL 6 GONE CRIME SCENE.

1. Chair had a black stain
2. Brown hair on the sheets ( i have black hair)
3. Carpet stains
4. Weird sticky stains under the light fixtures
5. Shower had no place to put soap (that bothered me)
6. Water ran out of the shower into the bathroom
7. Bathroom vent did not work, thus we had to open the small tiny little bathroom window
8. Faucet fixtures were different and did not match (that didn't bother me as much)
9. Paint job was done by kids, because there were paint stains on the towel rods and electrical wall plates.
10. No non-slip plastic rug for tile shower (that bothered me, since i had to bend to the floor to get the soap, shampoo, conditioner).
11. Room was super cold (as it was cold during that time). There was no heat in the room, so we tried to open the window for some warm air. The window could not open.
12. The blanket was poor quality, like those at motel 6.
13. Bed was hard like a rock.

I felt so sick... but I was so tired, since we had been traveling since 6:30 am from California. When we got up in the morning, we went down to pick up the parking and I spoke to the concierge about all these issues. They said there's nothing that they could do and that they were fully booked for the week. The only way that I can express my concerns was to go to the MEMBERS SERVICES. I told them I did not want to do a timeshare tour. I was not happy with my room. It was worst them MOTEL 6. Anyways, I was sent to another resort to go and speak to MEMBERS SERVICES. When I got there, they said i was at the wrong place and that there was nothing they could do. She did try to talk to the manager at Sea Gardens, and they kept saying that I book the small hotel room and that the reason why it was so bad was because I went through RCI. Irregardless, that room represented Wyndham to me, not RCI. Anyways they blamed RCI for everything. Anyways, after 4 hours of discussion, and a TIMESHARE review of my account (i was not happy with), they finally agreed to move us to another room. We moved around two more times before the week ended. I was not HAPPY AT ALL.

“great resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We stayed in the Waterfalls building and enjoyed the view into a beautiful garden from our terrace. The unit was clean and very nicely furnished. The pools and hot tubs were well kept and hot. We used the exercise room which had a good variety of machines. The resort is right on the beach. Our stay there was very pleasant and we would recommend this resort.
Our only complaint is that the bed was a bit small-only a full size bed.

Room Tip: Pick a room on the second floor or higher- first floor rooms get a lot of foot traffic.

“Key West Building”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

This was a nice place. Not Marriott quality, but served our needs. We had a 2 bed / 2bath. A great size for our 5 person family.

Pool was nice and warm, and the hot tub was nice and hot. Very close to the beach. We were in the Key West building, which is kinds wierd. Off all by itself, and feels separate from the rest of the resort. The new building in the back of the resort looks very nice.

We don't own a timeshare, but rented this one through their website. Be careful if you do this. After check-in they send you over to get your parking pass, and freebie toothpaste etc. They also try and get you to agree to a free lunch if you will "share your feelings about the resort... so they can improve." Anyway as thought it was a timeshare pitch. Probably the worst one I have ever been to! Very high pressure, and rude once they figure you are not going to buy!

Other employees are great though. Probably woulda given them a four had it not been for the sleazy timeshare stuff. Btw the other Wyndham places close to the beach (santa Barbara, and the other one) looked much nicer.

“Great place to have quality time with children.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

We were there in December 2011 - January 2012.

This is the best place to go with a family and we enjoy it so much that we go back every year.

The units are very clean and so is all the property. There are three heated pools and one that is not (the one closest to the beach). There are a lot of different types of unit and they all have access to a free wi-fi. Some units have a washer and dryer and some do not, but there are three washer/dryer available in the north cabana building and you can used then for free. There is also two Jacuzzi on the property and three tennis court are available free of charge. There is also a good fitness center on the site.

They completely renovated the lobby and the game room in 2010. The lobby is now located in the north building and the game room is in the south building.

The new game room had a free air-hockey game that was really appreciated by kids last year but it wasn't there anymore this year... Too bad. But they still have two Wii with a lot of games and they also have a good selection of board games. So whatever the weather you can have a lot of fun at this place. They also rent old DVD movies (2$).

One of the best thing about this place is the staff. They really do their best to make your vacation a great one. At the front desk you are always greeted with a smile (Evelyn, Barbara, Shenel, Joe, Pauline, etc). The activity staff (Maria, Eddy, Kenny, K!) are great. And the manager (Bryan) is often seen on the site and he is always making sure that we have a great experience there.

There are all so nice and so helpful. I must say that everyone working there really knows what customer service mean. They go out of their way to satify everybody and they are all great at their job.

We never had any problem finding a chair around a pool. But the busiest one is the one located between cabanas north and south. Probably because it is the less windy place so it is a good choice when the weather is colder.

The resort provides beach towels, but you might have a little trouble if you want to exchange those everyday since they don't always have some. But since you have access to a washer/dryer it might be a better idea to clean them yourself. Be advice that they now charge for things like laundry detergent, dishwasher, toilet paper if you need more that the quantity that was provided in the unit when you checked-in. This is new since it was provided free before.

You can rent a chair and an umbrella at the beach but the beach is so great you really don’t need too. Most of the people we saw just used their towel directly on the sand like we did. The ocean is great too. There is a medium drop when you enter the water (about 2 feet) but when you pass that you only have water to your knees and after that if is very shallow for a while. So the kids can go very far without you worrying about them. On the windy days the waves were really cool but did not seems too dangerous so this is a wonderful place to play with kids.

By the way, you can borrow a lot of things from the game room (Surfboard, sand toys, beach chairs (NEW!), football, etc...). You just have to sign in the register and if you bring back everything you won't be charge a dime!

Finally, they also organize a lot of activities (Bingo, Karaoke, etc...) and this is fun for all the family. So get in the mood and you will have a great time at Sea Gardens.

I will definitely go back to the Sea Garden and I really recommend it to everyone. This is one of the best timeshare I have been to.
