We were 'upgraded' to this hotel with our Ramada package. When I started reading the reviews, they were all over the place---some really good and then those that were very bad. So I'll break it down so you know what you are getting into. One review said this hotel had been upgraded and upgraded well. If it was, then it was done back in 1970. If you like water damaged ceilings, cracks in the walls/ceiling, peeling wallpaper, mildewed bathroom, holes in the walls, rusted kleenex holders, stains on the furniture, elevators that don't work, uncomfortable beds, and dirty floors, then this is the place for you. If you only care about paying for a place to stay that is beachfront, then definitely reserve this hotel. If you do care about all the hotel amenities including cleanliness and comfort, and not just the location, then this is NOT the place for you. We changed to a Hilton that was advertised for only $35 more a night and it was so much nicer and cleaner with a staff that was wonderful.

My wife and I had a wonderful time recently at Ocean Point Resort on our vacation. The hotel staff was great - friendly and attentive, and always with good suggestions for places to see and good restaurants. Our room was clean, spacious and had a great view of the beach and ocean which is literally footsteps from the hotel. The rooms also include a fridge, microwave and coffee maker and coffee. The pool and tiki bar were also a lot of fun. Coming and going form the hotel was also easy with the self parking right in front of the hotel. The hotel restaurant food was also excellent and affordable. The location is perfect for relaxing as the beach is large and offers chairs and umbrellas and there is also water sports available – jet skies, parasailing. The hotel is quiet, but conveniently located close to fine dining and shopping in Pompano as well as Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton. I also played golf at the Pompano Beach municipal golf course which is five minutes from the hotel and welcomes travelers. All in all, the hotel was exactly what the doctor ordered – a great place to rest, relax and enjoy the beautiful Florida beaches. We had a delightful time and we will be back soon.

Very old furniture , carpets were like walking on fly paper. At night the room had distinct smell of sewer, the balcony was well coated with bird droppings, one of two elevators were operating and even that one was out of service at times. We were on the eighth floor which made it more interesting. We also had a resort fee of $20.00 per night. The lounge chairs at the beach were broken and bolted together. We also found the beach to be dirty with litter and not groomed well. Also, do not bring a laptop unless it is wireless , outlets in the wall are so worn out the plug will fall out. When we opened the window the dust fell off the curtains like a dust storm.

Fantastic hotel right on the beach with great beach bar. Staff very friendly and attentive and great food. Entertainment on a Wednesday and Friday which was good fun. Only hotel right on the beach and we will definately be back.
