“ASHTON INN AND SUITES: Love this hotel!”

I have stayed in this hotel 3 times and each time I have been very pleased. I stayed here because of my husband was stationed at the Corey Station..Great location!! This hotel was the best looking hotel that I saw. This hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool. The people at the front desk are so nice and helpful. The rooms have a refrigerator, microwave, two stove burners, and a sink.

“Why the bad reviews?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

I have to say I was hesitant to book at this hotel after reading some of the reviews. However, due to last minute plans to go to Naval Air Station to see my son, it was a hurried decision. Plus, we needed a place that accepted pets due to us training a dog (to work with law enforcement) that we needed to have with us to continue training.

This place fit us perfectly! Would I prefer to stay at a 4-star hotel? Of course, who wouldn't? And you can go to Pensacola Beach and do so for $295 per night. Ashton was very clean. Noise level was not even there. I like the rooms being off of a hallway instead of your door opening to a parking lot. You have to have a room card to just get into the building. Very safe. Kitchenette was great to have. Beds were comfy. Nice closets. Bathroom was a little small but uh, how much room do you need?

The facility is big.....three buildings so the parking lot is crowded. Lots of military stay there. Plus there were a lot of workers there for the oil spill. I'm not a big breakfast person so muffins/pastries were fine for me. Staff was great! Price was $99 per night for 2 queen sized beds. It's only 7 minutes from front gate of Naval Air Station so it was perfect distance for us. I've never written a review before but I had to this time because the bad reviews on here are misleading. I would stay here again!

“Worked for me...”

My wife and I stayed a full week in the annex just south of the main building (with the pool) and had a good stay. We had four kids (all under 10 years of age) in one room. I would have liked to have more space, especially in the bathroom, but all we did was eat dinner and sleep in the room. The staff was friendly and met all of our needs. Would have liked to have a breakfast, but we had a room with a kitchenette, and there is a Super Wal-mart and grocery store less than 1/2 mile away. We cooked simple dinners and saved big bucks not eating out. Access to the beaches, historic downtown, NAS and I10 were all less than 15 minutes. My main issues were: 1) the use of ceramic tile in the main hallways (easy for staff to maintain, but the noise level was pretty high when people came through), and 2) lack of a decent restaurant selection (mostly fast food, Barnhills (ick!) and Ruby Tuesday (good)). We didn't have any parties in our building, but we had a busload of high school kids stay a couple nights. They were very well behaved and quiet. The beds were good and the rooms were clean; no smoke smell either.

“WORST BEDS EVER!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2010

We booked a couple of nights at this location but only ended up staying for one. We had 2 rooms and the beds were like sleeping on concrete! The rooms were $90 a night but there is no free breakfast, only muffins and coffee, the carpets were stained and one of our rooms wreaked of smoke!

The walls are paper thin and the Hotel sits directly on New Warrington Rd. so you can hear the traffic at all times, day and night. The doors to the rooms slam shut so you can also hear that going on up and down the hall at all hours.

Awful! Would NEVER stay there again.

“You'd get a better deal at Super 8”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 July 2009

Well to start off I spent a total of 6 days there and it was tolerable, but I'd definitely recommend somewhere else. When i first got to Pensacola my reservation said it was at 3 New Warrington which turned out to be the Extended stay, so I was sent a couple blocks down to the Inn and Suites on 910 Navy Blvd; luckily i was in the right place this time, so i paid and went up to my room, it turned out to be a smoking room so we went down and tried to get it changed. The attendant at the front desk told us that it was a non-smoking room and that we just were imagining it. After much arguing she finally moved us into a different room which only had one pillow and a couple sheets on the bed, no comforter...nothing. So we called down to the front desk to ask them to send a few more pillows and extra sheets, they told us that we'd have to go down to the front desk to pick them up, we were sick of arguing so we went down and picked them up. Good thing the rest of the day went by smoothly, well until 3 AM. We hadn't placed a morning wake-up so you can imagine we'd be rather annoyed about it waking us up; at 3 AM nonetheless. We figured it could have been an accident so we called down around 7 and asked them to remove us from the list, it didn't happen; every morning we'd get a wake-up call at 3 AM no matter how much we complained. About halfway into our trip our room started smelling of smoke too, turns out that the room next to us was the ONLY smoking room on the floor, no other room has a smoking sign on the door. Our door didn't shut properly and didn't lock properly either, if you jingled the door handle enough or pushed on it hard enough the door would open without a security key. All in all i think you'd probably get a better deal somewhere else, it was rather frustrating, but i suppose it wasn't as horrible as some hotels.
