We stayed here with our 2 toddlers for 5 nights in early Feb. The hotel was practically empty, I never saw a single person in the pool or splashpark. Only 4 people total in the hot tub, so Feb is ideal if you are seeking solitude. The rates are a bargain - $86 a night, but services are operating on reduced scale, the bars & snack bar outside are not open, there are no kids activities and repairs throughout the resort are being conducted, such as rethatching the tiki huts and redoing parts of the deck. The service at The View restaurant was friendly but a little slow considering how empty the place was. The gym was great, nice machines - 3 ellipticals and 2 treadmills with built in TVs and basic weights. The full size fridge in the room was very helpful, the room itself was pretty basic. For whatever its worth, there was no environmental stewardship policy such as preserving water by not using new towels everytime. I likely won't be going back, not because I didn't like the hotel, it was fine, but Panama City Beach in general was tacky on a heart-breaking scale, the only really good view was looking out to sea.
