“Hidden gem!!!”

Upon entering the hotel lobby you are truly wowed! Upon entering my standard, double bed, room on the 3rd floor, I was again wowed by the amazing sunset that I was able to view from my balcony. Don't be fooled. The balcony is about a foot and a half wide and nine feet long. Sufficient to stand on but not sufficient to sit out on. The hotel clearly states that the rooms are equipped with mini fridge. It does NOT list microwaves. Understanding that, feel free to take your chance and request one. They will provide one to you IF one is available. Brian, the attendant on duty when we arrived, found and delivered a microwave to our room while we were away. What a wonderful gift. We were then able to prepare our own breakfast and lunch. We bought dinner on two of our five nights. Publix subs is always a hit for my family. Publix is about 5 miles from the hotel. The Kingfish Restaurant onsite is not financially doable for most. Their menu selection is limited and very pricey. Pier Park Mall which is about 6 miles away will provide for wonderful choices of dining experiences and more affordable. We ate at my all time favorite, Olive Gardens. The hotel lobby and lounge are supposed to be wi-fi enabled. I was never able to access it the entire 5 days of my stay. The lady on duty my second night wasn't even able to tell me where the wi-fi was coming from so that I could station myself nearer. IBahn and ethernet cable are provided in room for wired internet. One safety concern I do have is that the showers do not have grab bars. I was afraid for my own safety but I would be more concern for an elderly person who may stay there.

Room Tip: Request a Bay front room on floors 3 or higher. Request a microwave upon check in. They WILL provide...

Bubbly B - Thank you for your great review! Myself and the hotel greatly appreciate it. Kingfish has recently updated their menu to include new, fresh dishes, so give a look next time you are in. If you come during the spring and summer months, check out Lime's. It is our bay-front bar and grill which has very reasonable prices and serves some of the best fish tacos in Panama City Beach! Also look for newly resigned wifi center that will make access a breeze for you. Looking forward to hosting your stay again in the future!

“Wyndham Resort not 3.5 star”

My husband and I went the 28th of December for just a couple of nights. The TV did not work, but no offer of a free movie (we were told many had that problem). The refrigerator was broken and fixed, the coffee maker was broken and switched out, the ac/heater never worked - on a two day trip that is a lot of "broken." The room was ok, no bureau for clothes, but a good size room. Many services not available (no restaurant, bar on peer, water activities, no shuttle to shell island) We were told there was one heated pool (5 on site) there was NOT any heated pool, there was NO outside hot tub. Basically the desk will tell you anything then say - "oh, really not working, hum." Very pretty place, but too much broken and you will not get accurate info when you call in - I didn't think the pretty place was worth the broken and inaccurate info.

Room Tip: Ask for bay view and get email confirmation on anything you are told. A lot of inaccurate info given...

Thank you for your review and honest feedback. I apologize that you had a less than stellar vacation. We have since your visit, made changes in our response system to guest issues. I further apologize that our seasonal activities; water-sports, shuttle and pier bar, were not open during your visit and you were not made aware of prior to arrival. Should you choose to give us another try, I would love to be given the opportunity to show you how great your stay at Wyndham Bay Point can be.

Should you choose to come again, please contact our sales department directly (800) 874-7105 and we would be happy to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing, what it should have been the first time.

“The Marriott staff surprised us with an overcharge. Beware.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

I should have known something was in store for us as it required no less than 6 calls to get our reservations correct; or so we thought. The rooms were in need of updating but, I can live with that. What I can't live with is being over charged $380.00 and then being told Marriott emailed us with details. I later discovered Marriott conveniently misspelled our email address. Beware, the staff will tell you one thing and then bill you differently. Never experienced anything like this is 40 years.

“Very nice, great staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

The hotel lobby and grounds are beautiful and convenient to a golf course. The only problem we had was that the room was a little warm, but not so much so that we felt the need to notify the staff. We casually mentioned it at checkout and the manager apologized profusely and offered us a free breakfast as compensation, which we declined.

Room Tip: As for a room on the south side for a view of the lagoon. Otherwise you'll be overlooking the pa...

“Comfortable and quiet.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

We just finished a 3 day weekend at this resort and overall were pleased with our stay. This property changed from a Mariott to a Wyndham on October 1st but still has the feel and touches of the Marriott management. We had read some negative comments about this being a "tired" resort being run by a less then top notch operator but we found very little evidence to support that sort of claim. The grounds were well kept, the public spaces in the hotel were clean and the room was spotless. Our only complaints about the room had to do with the difficulty of connecting to thier free internet service (they said they would be fully wireless in a few months) and the bed had a baseboard to it that "stuck" out from the mattress quite a bit and caused us to stub our toes and bang our knees on it a number of times. We enjoyed thier indoor pool and indoor and outdoor whirlpool and free on site parking. There are a few areas that need some maintenance such as the elevator entrances and brass walls that look worn and tired. Other then that this is nice hotel and during the off season was quiet and very comfortable. It is located on the far east end of the Panama Beach area and overlooks a lagoon area that is not directly on the ocean.

Room Tip: half of the rooms face the lagoon area dn athe other's face the front of the htoel and gold area...
