Website promised microwelle and fridge nothing in room.Front desk told us we try to get one for next day,nothing.Sink and tub plugged,tv not working proberly.No face or wash cloth on next day,Customer service, not good.Dirty.
well to say it short.It is dog friendly,thats all.

This property attracted us because it allows pets, has a pool, and is in driving distance of the tourist attractions without being as expensive as hotels on the beach. The building is old and could use renovation. The staff are just fine over all and some are very nice. My main complaint are disgusting ashtrays at the entrances and butts in the courtyard. The property is a very short drive to shopping and dining, even walking distance if necessary. The hotel is comparable to many others I've stayed at in Florida tourist towns.

Very disappointed in this low-budget hotel. Front desk employees were more interested in talking amongst themselves than checking in a couple of guests that were waiting in line.
Continental breakfast was very disappointing. Hardly any choices to pick from. It is like they are trying to cut back expenses.
I left message at the front desk for the general manager to call me regarding these discrepancies. I was later told that she was given the message. However, it seems that she had more important things to do. So let's see if the corporate office in Texas can be more accomodating with guest concerns.
I personally walked to a couple of hotels either across the street or behind this hotel and talked to them. They seemed to be more receptive to my questions.
In a strain economy, it does not seem like La Quinta can afford such unprofessionalism.

Strategically located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 231 and 23rd Avenue, it's a short drive south on 23 to St. Andrews waterfront and downtown. Or, take 23rd Avenue west, which ends at the entrance to the beach bridge. There's a mall behind the hotel and lots of dining places (and more shopping) along 23rd.

All hotels should be designed like this, with the elevator at the end of the hall. Only two rooms are near it and they're a good 10 feet away. Light sleepers should make sure they don't get a room facing 231, as it's a busy road even at 1 AM and there's also train tracks.

Room layout includes a wall partially separating the bedroom from the bathroom area, and the refrigerator & microwave are on the other side of wall from bed. Plus, both appliances are inside their own "armoire", so you cannot hear the refrigerator compressor.

Hotel takes pets and our first room was next to a barking dog. But we were able to get another room.

Breakfast area is very large - about a dozen tables. Usual LQ breakfast, with hard boiled eggs, you-make-'em waffles, juices, bagels / bread / muffins, cereals, yogurt.

Wireless Internet in rooms, but no hotel computer for guests who don't bring a laptop.
