“Lovely place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2010

Read some really bad reviews for European Village. Talked to the owner, decided to give it a try-kept our fingers crossed. What a really nice unit. We had 205B, one bedroom condo. No stove, just microwave and fridge, few dishes, but we weren't looking to spend much time in the unit. We were there to see the area, take in a few things we wanted to do. Tried Barbara Jeans for dinner in the courtyard below- very casual, good food and priced right. We also tried several other places to eat, all were good. Nice area.Turned out to be a lovely unit. Definitely plan on going there again next time. Well worth the money.

“We were knocking, but we couldn't get in...”

We made online reservations for a three day stay and arrived as scheduled. The doors were locked, some phone numbers were disconnected, and no one answered emails, messages, or notes we slipped under the door. We had do find another place to stay at 9:00 PM. Finally, the next day, we were told that the European Village Resort had been shut down due to rain damaged elevators. I am crossing my fingers that our credit card will not be charged, as promised by the EV rep. who finally took our call on the second day. Only good thing to come of the experience was some good meals at 2 of the restaurants on the EV site. Keep looking for somewhere else to stay.

“NO NO No - at least not right now!”

Made a reservation in June for July 24-26. Showed up and no one was there. No one at the front desk. No one to ask questions to. No one. Went to one of the shops on the premises and finally got a business card of a Realtor. Called the Realtor and she claimed that she had no reservations lined up until the end of August. Never offered to come over and check us in. We cancelled and went somewhere else. This hotel is a great idea and the pictures look great, but so far its only good as a concept and not a reality. Don't do it. It's not worth it. Also, we booked through the actual resort website and they still never got our reservation. We also called the numbers on the confirmation email and left 4 messages and never got a return call. Guess that should have been a hint at the impending disaster. Don't stay here.

“don't believe the pictures”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2009

my husband and i planned a trip to daytona bike week....we wanted to stay out of the area so we wouldn't have to deal with all the traffic....since i grew up in florida, i wanted him to enjoy A1A as much as i always did.....we found european village on expedia.com and booked a room through them....we liked the pictures it gave us and even when we looked at other websites, we still were very impressed with it....so when vacation came around----we had a hard time finding it, the address was not the same and someone kept calling us from the office starting 4 hours before we even arrived wanting to know what our arrival time would be....we weren't for sure, so we told them that...they wanted to get out of the office, but they would wait until we got there...they called three more times....then we arrived, and we noticed a couple of cars in the parking lot....no one around, it was about 3 pm....we went to the nearest vendor that was on the piazza and asked them where we checked in at?..they said they had no idea what we were talking about....we walked around for 20mins until we found the 'real estate' office on the opposite side of where we parked at....a guy was inside and was very short with us, like he was ready to leave and he was waiting on us....we told him we were confused on all of this....the stores were mostly closed, no people walking around, the fountain was empty and the projector screen was ripped all to shreds....it looked deserted!....he told us he or no one would be in the office and if we needed anything to call his cell phone and he would try to make it in.....after the anxiety left and we slept one night there, we became relaxed....the room was wonderful, the soaking tub was well used, the bed was awesome....overall, we would never stay here again and won't ever tell anyone to book a room there.....

the day we were traveling down there, we called and asked a lady about the pool that is pictured online and they told us they didn't have a pool....they said 'we are just across from the beach, we don't need a pool here'....so we thought we could see the ocean from our room maybe or walk to the water..??? NOPE!...not even close!...there's no recreational area, no gym.....you have to park in the only lot they have and our room was on the complete other side, so we couldn't watch our motorcycle, trailer, or vehicle....

and we stayed a week here!

“loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2008

We booked about eight rooms for a wedding in Palm Coast. After reading the trip reports we were expecting a nightmare. We were assured by Richard DiFede, a new management company that took over European Village, this would not be the case.
All the guest arrived at different times and everyone was very friendly and could not be more helpful at check-in. Just a little inconvenient not being able to check in at the front desk, but there was a sign telling you were to check in at. The rooms were very clean and very nice. My guests could not find anything wrong. Air conditioning worked great, water pressure was good in bathrooms and there were no dirty sheets or blankets. The mattresses on the beds were great. Everyone slept great. No loud music. We loved the entertainment in the middle of the courtyard. My guests really enjoyed the shopping, restaurants and bars in the village. The owner at one of the bars (Europia) was very nice. Very helpful to our large group.
It is a shame this place cannot get rid of the old reviews, since I think the new management company is doing a great job.
