“Mainly for retired people”

We stayed at this Marriott time-share the last week of January. I am a Marriott time-share owner in Spain and of all the Marriott's I have visited to date, I think this is the oldest one. We had a 2 bedroom unit and a bedroom on its own. Although perfectly acceptable, it is a bit outdated compared to other Marriott's. The majority of guests were retired people so if you have teenagers/in your 20's or 30's, it is maybe not the best place for you - depending on what you are looking for. It is a a very peaceful and restful place so if that's what you are looking for, it's definitely for you. One of the advantages is that it is right on the beach. However, there is not much going on in the surrounding area, you would definitely need a car if you like to be active. There is a very good minigolf and lots of jacuzzis & a small fitness room.

If you really want peace and quiet ask to go to the Kingfisher building which is separate from the other complex and a few minutes walk.

“Very Nice Resort”

Spent 4 nights at Ocean Pointe and had a great time. We were in a 1-BR suite on the second floor in the middle of our building, so there wasn't much of a view other than the parking lot, the building next door and lots of palm trees. You will need to be on the 4th floor or higher to see the ocean. The facilities and the grounds were very well kept, all the pools were very clean and the grounds crew did a great job of keeping things tidy. The suite was a mix of updated materials (granite counter tops in kitchen and a nice shower) and old stuff (cabinets looked like they were vintage 1980 oak). Effective and quiet HVAC was appreciated. The overall facility is very secure as you will need your room key to get into buildings or you need a keypad code to get through gates to the pool & recreation areas. In late January, the majority of folks here were seniors (65+), so if you are looking for a younger crowd, this may not be your favorite. But we liked it just fine.

Room Tip: Try for something on the 4th floor or higher for a better view, but these may already be booked by t...

We never had a bad experience with a Marriot and this was another excellent stay. We had a 2 bedroom unit on the 1st floor (actually the 2nd since the first is covered parking ) The rooms were large, had everything we needed, pool and beach were wonderful. There is nothing more we could have asked for. We will go again !! and recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Room Tip: The Kingfish area is quieter than the main buildings, It sits alone from the other 4 which are more...

“Had a great time....”

We recently stayed here (for the second time) with my husband's sister and her husband. They own three weeks here and it is one of their favorites. We stayed in a three bedroom on the fourth floor. The view was spectacular, and we couldn't hear a thing - down below or otherwise in the building. The unit has all the amenities you need. The property is kept up very nicely, and there is a walkway to the beach where you can rent chairs, or plenty of seating at the two outdoor pool. I didn't go, but my husband said the workout room was very nice and there is a Tiki bar there with friendly bartenders and a great grilled, mahi sandwich.

“GO!”

Why did we wait this long to stay at Ocean Pointe? Can I blame it on my mother? She had told me and my husband that we probably wouldn't like this resort - too far from everything since you have to travel over a bridge to get the mainland. Seriously, mom? It's only five minute to get from the resort over the bridge! We absolutely loved our visit and plan to return many times in the future. The setting could not be more beautiful - the beach is gorgeous. Our seventh floor 2 bedroom suite had water views of both the ocean and the inlet - we watched the boats all day long and loved it. My husband and I agreed that the units at Ocean Pointe were the most beautifully appointed of any Marriott timeshare we have stayed at. The staff were friendly and accomodating - and this isn't our home resort - we exchanged to get in (we have found that that CAN make a difference!). The only reason I wouldn't give this an 'excellent' rating - options for cocktails/dinner is pretty slim/non-existent. Small tiki style huts that serve casual food and drinks. Would be nice to have a cocktail/dinner experience onsite that is a bit nicer. Beyond that though - this place is a winner.

Room Tip: I would opt for south side - you get both sunrise and sunset. We had a 2 bedroom corner which gave...
