“Great week on the Atlantic on Singer Island”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We spent the last week in January at the Palm Beach Shores Resort. This was our 3rd visit here. We are owners. Our 1 bedroom corner room was perfect. It had great views of the pool and the ocean. The room was clean and very spacious (especially the bathroom). We had two minor problems that were taken care of quickly. The pool area is nice, just a little crowded and warm, sunny days. The restaurant has affordable prices and serves good food--not great. The staff has increased the number of resort activities each time we go there. The neighborhood surrounding the resort has also gotten better with each visit--more restaurants and shops. The grouns a nicely landscaped. The drink prices by the pool are a littel pricey---they could use a few drink specials each day like many resorts do. We definitely will return agan to the Palm Beach Shores resort.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a poolside/oceanside room.

“Girl Trip - May 2011”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We stayed here as a guest of a Timeshare owner. This was a timeshare switch as she actually owns her timeshare in Cabo San Lucas. We were overall very pleased with the unit, the beaches, the food, the location - which was within walking distance to several great restaurants, shops, etc.
We did get talked into the timeshare sell "talk" which took almost five hours of our day. They were quite pushy, and this was the only negative of this trip. The resort was very clean, and the one bedroom was great for three women traveling together. There is a very lovely walking path through the town - which has huge trees, pretty flowers and an area of beautiful waterfront walking path. That was probably one of our favorite activities. It was quite easy to go up and down the coastline to visit other communitites, and we had a wonderful trip. There is much to do in the area.

“Loved it so much that we will be back next year.”

My wife & I stayed over the Christmas / New Years week. Weather was great, hotel was nice and the beach was wonderful. The Mantee's came by twice in one day. I was swimming, when a Manatee swam by within three feet of me. It was amazing.

Only three hours to Key Largo and 5 hours to Key West (take the Turnpike). We went swiming with the Dolphins in Key Largo. Next time we visit, I'm going deep sea fishing and snorkling. My wife is going to spoil herslef on the beach all day with Cabana service.

We are timeshare owners and had not stayed at the resort in years. We actually thought about selling the timeshare, but have decided to keep it a while longer.

Room Tip: The Rooms facing the pool catch the Noise from the crowd and bands all day and into the night. Some...

“January 2012 stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We are fairly long time owners at PBSR. Overall, the resort looked great, was very clean, and appeared to be painted recently. The last time we stayed at the resort was the year after a bunch of hurricanes damaged the resort. They have done a great job of fixing up and maintaining the property. The heavy sales push still exists and 10 years ago we were told that the large space on the first floor used by the sales staff would be converted to resort space in 4-6 years. It would be great space to incorporate into the resort. The gym is woefully small and used a great deal daily. The Gym could be made much bigger and by the use I saw all week long it would be a great addition.

The cleaning staff was extremely friendly and did a great job. Rooms were clean and it was nice to see the new flat screen TVs replaced the old TVs in the living room area. Too bad they were not using a high-def feed. It did make them seem kind of wasted on the normal definition service. The kitchen was fine and well appointed with everything we needed to have small meals.

The restaurant food continues to be mediocre and we would eat there more often if it was better. The nachos were nearly un-edible.... Nasty movie theater like liquid cheese was gross.... Manager offered to bring something else and was very gracious but it was our second poor experience at the restaurant in two days. The crunchy grouper sandwich was very good for lunch but the fries are also pretty awful.

One major complaint is that even though there is a sign indicating that pool amenities are for paying guests only, many locals come in and use the very limited number of pool chairs. Four twentysomething locals were using 4 chairs in front of us talking about how they come there because they can get in for free and use the pool were putting their cig butts out on the ground where everyone walks barefoot to the pool. We even ran into neighbors from Boston who stay in the area for the season who come to use the pool and told us it is known by the locals to be a great place to hang out because you can get in and used the pool for free. So the reputation is out there in the community. It is all well and good for the resort to make extra money at the tiki bar and restaurant from people who are not staying at the resort but there is a HIGH demand for chairs around the pool for a very limited supply that does not match the number of people staying at the resort. We ended up renting beach chairs so we knew we were guaranteed a spot on the beach for the entire day.

We love the location and the resort in general, we remain very happy owners and look forward to our stay every year. The extended sales push which we are able to ignore, the poor quality in the restaurant, and easy pool access to non guests keep the resort from really shining. It would be wonderful to see these items addressed in the coming years and see the resort shine as it is well capable of doing.

Thank you for sharing your vacation experience in such detail with our TripAdvisor readers. We love hearing from our owners about their time with us and as a management team we discuss our guest reviews in length. We believe that these comments are invaluable because it helps us decide on services and improvements most desired by our guests. Palm Beach Shores Resort does not own or manage the Island Grille and Tiki Bar located on property; therefore they are open to the public. Your comments have also been shared with the restaurant’s management for review. We are thankful that you have continued to enjoy your vacations at Palm Beach Shores Resort and we look forward to having a future opportunity to meet all your expectations the next time you visit Singer Island.

“I Often Stay here and Love it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Large spacious clean rooms. Most beautiful beaches with a lot of marine life. One of the few beaches in which you can snorkle right off the beach and actually see exotic fish. Once, we watched a manatee swim by. The pool is not big enough for the number of rooms, so if you are a pool person, get there early. They have started removing towels on chairs that are left unattended for 30 minutes. This is a great idea. Can rent beach chairs and unbrellas for $30 a day. They don't allow personal umbrellas on their beach. Tiki bar is greate but expensive if not happy hour. Barmaids are not very friendly and they tend to add gratutity to checks.

Room Tip: bay view is quite, but ocean view is the best. They have plenty of ocean view rooms.

We love hearing from our repeat guests and we thank you for your recommendation of Palm Beach Shores Resort. We’re thrilled to read that you’ve enjoyed your accommodations and were able to experience Florida’s exotic marine life up close and personal! However we are disappointed that the tiki bar at the resort did not meet all of your expectations. It is common practice to add gratuity to food and beverage checks for establishments in high tourism areas like Palm Beach. We look forward to hosting you again the next time you return to our lovely island.
