Despite the reviews, I chose this hotel. My daughter and I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. One of the main reasons for selecting it was because I could pay via Bill Me Later, and use my trip money for other things.
I'll start with the positives: The hotel is fairly convenient to the beach, about a 5 minute drive. Luckily for future travelers, the hotel is being bought out by Best Western, so they are making major renovations! They were working on them the entire time we were there. The young man working behind the front desk always held the doors open for us as we came and went.
The negatives: The furniture is severely outdated, as mentioned in other posts. If the hotel was a b&b or had more of an antique theme, it would've been fine. But to just have old furniture in a semi-modern hotel was kind of creepy. The king bed was huge and pretty comfortable. However, you could tell by the deep dip in the center that the mattress was very old. The carpet appeared to be clean but gave the room an unclean feel. WARNING, the parking lot is VERY poorly lit at night! To make matters worse, the side doors to the hotel remained propped open throughout the night. The fitness room is about the size of a large closet. However, they managed to squeeze a treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike, and tv into it. The breakfast, while free, did not look inviting at all. We didn't eat it. It's served in what I'm guessing is part of the conference center, which looks like a huge dungeon. The business center consists of 1 computer sitting on a small computer table in the lobby. We were told that the hotel had wireless, but it never worked.
