“The lap of Luxury”

This is an older hotel, beautifully maintained, with an excellent staff. We attended a private weekend-long event at the hotel. The rooms have every appointment (most of it for sale - like the robes and the umbrellas - but for the use of the occupants). The food was exceptionally good. Well-cooked and well presented. The location is perfect - a short walk to the beach and a short walk to the beautiful shops on Worth Avenue.

“Amazing Hotel!”

My husband and I found this place while we were looking for our wedding venue. We ate lunch with the wedding coordinator, and instantly fell in love. Everyone is so nice there, and makes you feel like you are part of something special. Our wedding was amazing; from the food (chilean seabass for dinner was the highlight for me), to the service and our room, to the beauty of the hotel at night. We have been back for our anniversary and for a caberet show, and I am never disappointed. I cannot wait to have many more memories there in the future! Stay here! Get married here! or even just eat here! I LOVE The Colony!!

“Great service at a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

Just a block off Worth Ave with the beach down the street, The Colony is a great hotel to experience Palm Beach's pleasures. Good in house restaurant with pool side dining, and some of Palm Beach's best stores and restaurants are just a few blocks away. Small pool and some small rooms are probably the only negatives. There is also a small coffee, pastry, and sandwich shop adjacent to the elevators in the lobby - but only open weekdays. Thankfully Starbucks is around the corner in the shopping mall.

Room Tip: higher floors give a better view instead of the adjacent parking garage

“Bed Was To Die For”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2011

I have been to the Colony before to attend conferences but never stayed in one of their rooms.   I just had a one day trip and I thought why not the Colony.   I am so glad I picked it. Cost was a factor and the rate was the best of the other properties I was considering, the Breakers, the Brazilian, the Ritz.  Frankly i couldn't justify those prices for a business stay.  The Hyatt Place was a few dollars cheaper but has no pizzaz.  Lucky that I  have stayed in some very very nice spots lately and I am always looking to explore more.  Since the common areas are charming I had high hopes for the room. It was pretty much as expected. Immaculate, decor consistent with the lobby and online photos. There is an  air about the Colony that makes it feel a bit vintagey, a bit of faded glory. That is not to say there was anything shabby or subpar - at all.  It's just not ultra modern or minimalist. It's of a different era and I loved it.

I arrived around 11pm and had a 7 am pick up the next morning. I didn't stay long but the front desk was very accommodating as my plans kept changing and I had them book a local car service as recommended   Excellent service at a very reasonable price, thank you Mark at Luxury Transportation!

The best part of my very short stay was hands down the bed. Ok the Molton Brown toiletries are quite nice too.  I don't usually fall asleep when my head hits the pillow. I slipped under the covers and was enveloped in fluffy bedding, a super comfy mattress and was out like a light.  Perhaps the wine at dinner helped a bit but this bed was nonetheless a luxurious treat.  Would stay again, have enjoyed cocktails at Polo Lounge and I have always thought the pool looks very inviting. This small hotel offers quite a lot, great staff, great grounds and locale.  And now I know the beds are dreamy too!

“Nice location, nasty employees”

We were really looking forward to our stay in Palm Beach, but this hotel, despite looking great on paper, turned out to be a dud. The location is wonderful, just around the corner from some serious "power shopping" on Worth Ave. and a short block from the beautiful beach. The hotel itself was beautiful and clean and the food was quite good. That said, I don't think I've ever felt quite so unwelcome anywhere in my travels. With only one exception, not a single employee we interacted with smiled. They weren't quite rude and they did do their jobs well enough; but they were condescending, unfriendly and generally made us feel as if we weren't quite good enough to stay at "their" hotel. One even made disparaging comments about an ethnic group from which my traveling companion descends! I would not, under any circumstances stay here again, nor would I recommend it.
