The Comfort Suites was pointed out to us by the physician staff as a place to stay during surgery and inpatient stay at Florida Hospital. Since it was circled and literally right across the street I decide to book a room. We checked in on Thanksgiving afternoon, obviously not the ideal way to spend a holiday.
The clerk was wonderful, sympathetic to our situation, and giving us a room in a very quite part of the hotel.
Facility is very clean, exceptionally quiet, well appointed and superbly located right across the street from the hospital. The neighbourhood is also terrific, even though it is labeled Downtown Orlando, it is on the fringe of the College Park area, and Winter Park, so older, established, but very quiet and safe. Walking back to the hotel late at night was never an issue. The streets are well lit, in great repair and even at late hours people are coming in and out of the hospital.
If you have the need to visit this hospital, for personal or companion needs, you will find this a great place to stay. They offer a patient preferred rate which is reasonable and good value. Not free, but very good value.
The breakfast is simple and straightforward, nothing fancy or extra special, but kept fresh and the area clean.
Staff is always courteous, pleasant and professional.
I am confident if you are looking for a day, a couple of days, or like my situation 9 days, you will find the Comfort Suites, exactly what you are looking for.
