“Great place”

I stayed here for one night last December and found it to be lovely. The room was large, quiet and nicely decorated and up to date. The Bistro downstairs had good food which you could eat there in your own pod with private TV or take up to your room. There was also wine available, although not a bar. I would definitely stay there again.

“Bad neighborhood, kept awake by office door slamming all night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2011

Whatever you do, DO NOT let them put you in the room directly above the lobby/front desk. I was kept awake all night by the office door being slammed every 5 minutes. They did move me to another room the next day. Facility/rooms are nothing special, and there's no "courtyard" to be found. It's in a not-so-good area with homeless shelters, pawn shops, liquor stores etc. in the immediate vicinity. I saw several teenage street types who were obviously not guests come in to use the computers in the lounge area off the lobby. No security as far as I could see. Wi-Fi is essentially non-functional. Minimal food available other than breakfast-- which is overpriced unless you are lucky enough to get a room rate that includes free breakfast. Nothing nearby in terms of things to do other than eat. Shuttle is unreliable & does not run on weekends. I didn't have a car, but the extra parking charge is a ripoff. Given the limited choice of decent hotels in downtown Orlando, you could do a lot worse, but watch what room they give you, have a car, be prepared to pay extra to park it, and plan on eating out every night (unless you order delivery & cough up $21 + tip for a small, cold hamburger).

“A nice stay right in downtown, close to Florida Hospital- very quiet.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2011

This is a pleasant place to stay if you need to be in downtown Orlando. It is close to cultural amenities, and for us, close to the hospital, which is why we were there, for a doctor's appointment for our son. The kids enjoyed the complimentary cookies at the desk, though they would have liked to have had some in the late evening as a late night snack when we got back after dinner. They have a nice little shop for snacks and drinks, though the ice cream was a little overpriced. Their lounge/restaurant was nice to have, and breakfast was cooked to order. My kids were very excited because there was a TV crew from a national television program staying there at the same time, and the staff were low key about this. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The office offered free internet access and free printer privledges. The gym has excellent, top notch equipment and free bottled water, and an indoor spa, as well as an outdoor pool.

My two complaints: $10 a day for parking, which I felt was a little steep, and the area is very urban, so it's not a neighborhood you would want to stroll around at night, though I noticed their security was very present and thorough.

“A Good Place With Good People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2011

This has been my second stay at the Downtown Orlando Marriott Courtyard and everyone who works there is always so very friendly and nice. If you need something and call the font desk they make sure you get it immediately. Also because this hotel is away from the tourist area and full of business people, you are assured a nice quite nights sleep. I really recommend this hotel to everyone traveling to Orlando. The only downside to the Downtown Courtyard would be the iron. They really not good, but that shouldn't deter you from staying here.

“Nice, but isolated for non-business traveler”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2010

A $40 taxi drive from Orlando International. $10 taxi drive from Amtrak Station. Lovely hotel, with little balconies (though not much of a view) and really nice staff. Easy-to-access free wireless in rooms. NO free breakfast. Rooms had a teensy refrigerator; no microwave. Big flat panel TVs.

We stayed here twice, going and coming from Tampa over Thanksgiving. Only one restaurant within walking distance -- although we found it to be fabulous (Trastavere).
