“Great 1-night Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

The reception I received at this hotel was excellent. I arrived to the hotel about 9am on very little sleep. The front desk allowed me to check-in at this time since they had a room available. The hotel is clean and has all the things you would need on a business stay: Gym, Lounge, Breakfast area, Business print area, shuttle transportation, etc. Overall a clean hotel with great service that meets all the requirements you would need for a shot-term/business stay in Downtown Orlando.

“Great hotel for business”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

Stayed here right after Thanksgiving for five days. Unfortunately the weather was chilly so I never got to use the pool. We stayed in a one bedroom suite with a balcony. The room was clean, nice area for breakfast, lunch and dinner, if you so choose, and extremely reasonable rates. Across the street there was a TJ Fridays and the Bonefish Grill, which was within walking distance, if you didn't choose to drive. Wouldn't definitely return. Hotel also has on site laundry facilities.

“Trains at 1am...2am...3am...4:30am...”

I am not normally one to review the hotels that I stay in, but this one was troubling enough that I feel the need to comment. First of all, the hotel was under construction. The entire first floor, including the front desk and front entrance are all off limits while they renovate the hotel. Guests are required to enter through the rear of the hotel, walking through a tarp-like tunnel. There is no restaurant or lounge in the hotel, thanks to the renovations. I applaud them for trying to update the currently outdated decor.

Having said that, the location of the hotel left much to be desired. The hotel backs up to a gas station and apparently a set of train tracks. There is a constant flow of traffic and car horns honking day and night at the gas station. And the trains....I was awoken every hour on the hour by the sound of train horns blaring as trains passed the building. I was surprised by the trains because there is no train traffic during the day, so until 1am, I was unaware of the presence of the tracks.

One last warning...if it is raining at the hotel, you can forget getting any kind of television reception...

“Not so good”

This hotel is right on the train tracks. I was woken up several times during the night to the sound of a train. The beds also seem quite small and not very comfortable. They did not have any King beds available. Additionally, the room was musty and felt a bit swampy and uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Orlando

“Good business hotel - probably not the best for families”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 April 2011

I stayed here for 4 nights when working in the area. It is convenient to the businesses downtown, but is not in the best area of town. The hotel seemed pretty secure, but most of the parking is on the side and in the back of the hotel. If I ever came in after dark I felt a little nervous parking back there and walking into the hotel by myself. I saw a security guard out there one morning, but not at night, which I thought was strange. Also, this is probably not the best hotel for families. It is convenient to I-4, and about a 10 minute drive to Universal, 20 to Disney, but the outdoor pool is small, and is in the back of the building, so it does not even get direct sun until after 1pm or so. The fitness center is small, but has updated cardio machines with individual tvs. I did not get the best sleep of my life because when the air conditioner comes on it sounds like a plane taking off, and it is near some train tracks, so that provides plenty of noise to disturb your sleep. Other than that the hotel was clean and decent, but I might stay in a more tourist area next time. Parking is $10/day.
