Just returned from a week at Disney World. Stayed here because of affordable price and a free buffet breakfast. Positives were the room (definitely a roomy one bedroom suite), hot buffet breakfast each morning (eggs, saugage, potatos, fruit, cereal, breads, juices, coffee and our favorite was the yogurt..... a big savings for a family of 5), pool and whirlpool and only 10 minutes from Disney World parks. Only negatives were decor of room and bathroom(did not seem to be "luxuriously" renovated) as paint was peeling in bathroom and room, and wireless interbet was spotty sometimes. Hallways were plain. Did have a useful gift shop. Overall, got what we paid for in a hotel and the buffet was the money saver.

we were quite disappointed at our first glance of this hotel in real life.... the pics are somewhat deceiving - i thought it would be much nicer ... the hallways left a lot to be desired - very much in need of upgrading i.e. paint and flooring - it felt somewhat dirty and dungy in the hallways, back entrance, and elevators... the rooms had big gaps under the doorway - did not feel extremely secure... the rooms were clean but nothing fancy or extravagant at all - this is probably one of the least nicest places we've stayed - the pool area was decent - the food was just ok - breakfast buffet was not hot and steamy and applealing - but it gave us a little to nibble on to take away the munchies... would we stay again? i really don't think so - there are much nicer places for the same amount of money in the area..

we had a few reservations about this hotel after reading some of the reviews,but found some of them to be unfounded.we stayed for 14 nights and loved it,king suite ok it was a little dated with the decor but very roomy. the only thing was there was no kettle or saucpans when we arrived we asked about this at the front desk next morning and when we got back to the room after the day out this had been sorted out,all the staff are very friendly,housekeeping good,towels etc always changed plus bed linen,good free breakfast,plenty of free parking,pool area clean and tidy,nice and quiet at night no noisy people waking us up in the middle of the nite nothing is too much trouble for the staff,and there were also no cockrouches as some reviews stated,looking forward to staying at the hawthorn again in 2012 good little hotel thanks for a great stay

We stayed at the Hawthorn Suites for five days over Christmas, 2011. The first thing I did when we got to the room (while my husband cranked the A/C.. it was HOT in there!) was go to the sink to wash my hands. When I turned the faucet, nothing happened. Then it spit and sputtered and shot MUD out! My husband tried the kitchen and the tub.. same thing! We left for a few hours and came back to fully functioning faucets.. thank god. But we had to run them all for a few minutes to clean them out.. yuck! The hotel staff was very helpful, though! If we had a question on how to get to a park, they would give us a few options! They also have a luxury cab driver stationed at the hotel all the time! He charges flat rates, too! So no $40 cabs, even if he does take the long way around.. great! The rooms were clean and it looked like they had updated recently. The bed was VERY uncomfortable... very old! I checked for bed bugs when we arrived and was pleased to see there were NONE! If we went back to Orlando, I probably wouldn't stay here.. there was a Best Western Plus literally right next door!!
