“Beautiful grounds, average rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We stayed here in January and thought the grounds and the look of the resort was beautiful. We liked how there was a pool for each of the 'islands' on the resort. The pool was heated to a very warm temperature which was great as evenings in Florida in January can be a little cool.
The rooms were fairly basic, but aqequate as we didn't spend much time there. The bathroom was tiny and the shower could have done with a bit more water pressure, plus the toilet had one of the noisiest flushes I have ever heard! However, I did like the double sinks in the area outside the bathroom and the curtain which allowed some privacy for dressing.
We were on the second floor of Jamaica and found the room clean and functional. The maid service was excellent and we came back to a clean room with our children's toys displayed on their bed.
I did find the resort very spread out. To get to the restaurants was quite a hike and it took nearly 15 minutes to walk to custom house, but as our kids were older this wasn't a problem. If I had smaller children I think I would prefer a hotel that was more compact with all the amenities close by - theme parks are tiring enough without adding a long walk to your room at the end of the day.
I found the food at the food court rather limited and we rarely ate there.
The buses to the park were frequent and while we had to stand occasionally, usually we got a seat.
If I could I would give this hotel a rating of 'good' as it's above average, but not 'very good', but the trips advisor rating system doesn't allow this.
Overall we had a very enjoyable holiday, slept well in the rather small beds, but I would probably go to a different disney hotel if we went back, perhaps one less spread out with better food options.

“My phone didn't work when I most needed it”

There was a lot to like about this hotel. The rooms were fairly large and I liked the whole complex, although it is a little confusing. We did not wait very long for buses (for the most part).

However, we had a child get sick on his bed, and we could not call housekeeping (or anyone else) on our phone. Thankfully, we were able to go next door (where our inlaws were staying) to get a hold of housekeeping. This is inexcusable in my eyes.

Room Tip: Request rooms near transportation because this is a huge complex

“Great Holiday nice place to stay”

There have been some bad reviews on this place, but we just returned from here two days ago and found it to be just fine. the staff were friendly, the grounds were beautiful and the rooms were okay. It is a moderate resort so five star accomodations should not be expected. I will say that the rooms could stand to be cleaned better... just dusty not gross. Also the resort is huge! they have the resort shuttle to get people around in as it is large and it would be horrible to have to walk the resort after at day at the parks. overall it was a nice stay and I have no huge complaints. the kids really enjoyed the movie under the stars. each night there is a different movie playing outside by the main pool area. This was fun for the family. Overall decent place to stay!

Room Tip: It is worth asking for a room close to the shuttle bus stops. The rooms with a water view are of th...

“not great for strollers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

This was our first time staying at this hotel. It will most likely be our last. While the hotel was nice and it has really beautiful grounds, it is not great for strollers. We booked our reservation 7 months in advance and requested a pack-n-play. All was provided just fine. We were given a room on the 2nd floor and the resort does not have elevators. It was such a hassle every night to get the sleeping baby out and lug the stroller up the stairs every time. The resort is also quite large so for us it was a 15-20 min. walk to the food-court and or to the bus stop. The bus travels around the resort to stop at other areas before heading out to the parks. All in all it could take 45 min. to get to Magic kingdom. THe customer service is as always outstanding and the resort is very clean. If you have teenage kids or are adults it would be a great resort. Did not love it for young kids.

Room Tip: request 1st floor if you have a stroller.

“Amazing Resort Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We have stayed many different times in the Orlando area to visit Disney, but this was our first stay at a Disney Resort.

We arrived in style via Disney's Magical Express, and our luggage was delivered to our room, no hassles! We stayed in the Trinidad North section of the resort, so it was farely close to the Food Court and main pool area. When we arrived to our room, the room was dirty and not cleaned. When we called to let them know, they arrived via company car and took us personally to a different room, which was an upgrade.

Our housekeeping was great. Always very attentive and quick!

We kept to ourselves at the "Trinidad" pool and it was very quiet and a bit warmer than the other pools.

Room Tip: pick one in Trinidad North or Martinique, they are closer to the main area
