“Great Airport Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 May 2012

As always, after reading some reviews, i was a little worried to choose this property, but i have found out that it just takes one little something going wrong for people to give a hotel a negative review. With this said I can tell you that some people have given this hotel a bad rap when they shouldn't have. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Awilda who made us feel welcomed and appreciated. She was so cheery and refreshing after a long flight. She gave us warm cookies and quickly got our room keys and answered our questions with a great big smile. I don't think we have ever been treated this well upon checking in. The hotel is older but very well maintained. The breakfast buffet was great and just what we needed. The shuttle was prompt and both drivers that we met were pleasant and ever so helpful. The hotel is within walking distance to several restaurants, Chili's, Cracker Barrel and several others that I cannot recall. Great location. Great precruise hotel.

Room Tip: Our breakfast came complimentary, but if you do not want to pay the big bucks at the hotel, Cracker...

“Pleasantly surprised!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 May 2012

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the room at this hotel was. The beds were comfortable and had very nice linens, pillows, and blankets. The room was appointed with above average furnishings. * Nice wide screen tv.* Great in- room coffee making machine. The cookies given out at check in were divine! Free coffee in the lobby would be a nice suggestion to have made this a perfect stay. ... but, overall I was a happy guest! I would book a room here again.

Room Tip: To get a great price on gas to fill up before you return your rental car. Go out of the parking lot...

“Doubletree by Hilton Orlando Airport - Not quite what you expect from a Doubletree or Hilton product”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 April 2012

I was able to book this hotel through Priceline for $59. Having never stayed here but knowing the name I thought I got a great deal. When we arrived to the hotel it was immediately obvious that it was an older hotel and very dated. Pot holes that you better drive around just driving into the hotel. The hotel wasn't awful but it wasn't new, was not decorated in a modern way nor were the rooms even the quality of a Hampton Inn by Hilton. The lady at the front desk was VERY friendly and polite but that is the only really positive thing I can say about this stay. There were faux wooden cabinets in the bathroom that had dust at least a 1/4 of an inch think on the trim work (picture posted), the mirror was chipped in several places, a leak in the wall that had been cut out and not properly repaired that continued to leak and mold on the wall and tile near the toilet (picture posted), the faucet in the tub was all chipped up (picture posted) and the room looked like something decorated from the 80's with lots of floral curtains, etc. It was an ok stay at $59 but I would not return to this hotel with the other options in the area and I certainly wouldn't spend the nearly $200 per night they are requesting as regular room rate.

Room Tip: Call another hotel in the area.

“Friendly folks, but nothing special”

Very friendly at check in. Room was clean but fairly dated.

Nothing really memorable either good or bad.

Although I have to say this is the best place I've found really near MCO (but that's not setting the bar very high).

“Look for an alternative”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 April 2012

We stopped here for one night prior to our cruise from Port Canaveral with Royal Caribbean. During our stay in America we stopped in 3 hotels and this was the worst one. The hotel itself was adequate for one nights stay. The room was a bit tatty and in need of redecoration. The facilities inside the room were basic. The manager on duty at the time was unhelpful and very arrogant. The other staff were ok. The next time we stop in this area we will look for a different hotel.
