We stayed here for a convention last weekend. We were rather excited as it was the first time we've actually stayed at a hotel where the convention is, instead of spending less to stay nearby.
We used our Marriott Rewards points so the hotel room ended up costing us nothing but our accrued points. Check-in was a little complicated as I reserved the first night with my points and my wife reserved the 2nd night with her points. They couldn't keep us in the same room without us coming back down in the morning for some adjustments. We went down and they did keep us in the same room, but it took a lot of patience and if I was going to do it again, I'd just switch rooms because it took soooo long to do this.
I then asked for a luggage cart, but was denied because it's the porters job. So you either pay someone to do it or you must lug everything up to your room yourself without a cart. Very convenient!
Wireless internet is free IN THE LOBBY ONLY. If you want internet in your room, it's $15/day. From the lobby I got speed tests of 3.56 Mbps for download and 4.15 Mbps for upload, with a ping of 57 ms.
Parking is $12.78 per day for self parking. Valet costs even more. The parking lots were quite full because of the convention that we were attending there. You must swipe your room key to get in and out of the parking lot. This causes a lot of confusion with the guests and several times I was in a line of cars waiting to get out of the parking lot because someone couldn't get their card to read or they had to swipe a credit card. Had I known this, we would've just parked at Oracle next door. They're closed on the weekends and it only adds about 50-100' to you already long walk from the parking lot. Oracle's address is 7453 T G Lee Boulevard.
The television remote control is disabled besides the most basic functions. No guide, no channel back, just channel up/down and the ability to get pay-per-view stuff. BUT you can unplug the little control box on the back of the TV and hook up a PS3, Wii, etc. You have to use the input button on the side of the TV to switch back and forth between the inputs.
No free breakfast. It costs $13 for the continental breakfast! Lunch and dinner cost even more. Hopefully you have a car as there are several restaurants close-by, but not many within walking distance.
The notice on the back of the hotel room door is expired by over a year. It does not mention that there is a fee for parking now.
I didn't completely hate the hotel though. The employees were very nice. Sometimes there was an attendant opening the door for you. The shower head in the bathroom was great and probably the easiest to adjust the flow that I've ever used. The view from the room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. Check-out time of noon gave us plenty of time to get packed up and out of there.
I just didn't like how everything they offered was at an additional cost. And the parking fee alone is enough to keep me from ever visiting this hotel again.
