“Not The Embassy Suites I'm Used To”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I have stayed at Embassy Suites and always consider them kind of a splurge...I am a SPG member and love the Starwood brand, but have always had wonderful experiences at Embassy Suites. This one, I really tried to like. First "hmm" that doesn't sound like a big deal, was NO towel racks, either in the shower area or out in the sink area.....what is up with that? Oh well, no problem, really...then the stopped up toilet that took two trips from maintenance to fix. Next, no sheets or blankets on the fold-out couch (two women sharing a room for the PGA Show, had reserved two queen beds and got one king). Called down to front desk and someone from housekeeping arrives, hands me a bundle of blankets and sheets and says, "Is there anything else I can get for you?" I only had a "hmm" moment over this one due to the little laminated paper that comes out of the fold-out bed when you open it saying how much they value your comfort, and if this bed isn't made up to your satisfaction, please let us know (or words to that effect). The bed wasn't made up at all...and then I had to make it!

It was horribly uncomfortable...just as a side note. Yikes.

We were there for three days...the breakfasts were wonderful and FAST...faster than any ES I have ever seen. This saved a star in my review, to tell the truth. The evening cocktail reception was great as well...the fairly expensive rate was also saved for me by the breakfast and cocktails.

The rooms are smaller than ES I have visited...it was dark, kind of worn down...it just wasn't the quality that I remember from other visits to this brand.

The front desk staff was excellent and always helpful...but overall, this was a very average place, for above average prices. I get the impression they get so much convention business, they really don't have to be anything out of the ordinary.

“Quality Service for a Bargain!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We LOVE Embassy Suites for the value and service. This is our second time at this particular one, and we were not disappointed. The location is perfect for Universal (we did that last year) and only 15 minutes to Epcot (this year). All the staff members with whom we came in contact were helpful and friendly. The front desk staff were especially attentive - they never let anyone wait. I was standing behind a party at check-out who looked like they might take some time, and someone appeared to help me. No wait. LOVE that!

Cooked to order breakfast was great - I can't imagine wanting any more than what was offered. I wanted whole milk for my coffee, and didn't see it. I asked, and it was delivered to my table quickly and with a smile.

Our suite was just fine: clean and quiet. The king bed was very comfortable, and housekeeping remembered that we prefer to sleep without the comforter. The in-room safe is large enough for a laptop and free wifi is nice, too. The Crabtree & Evelyn soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion were a nice touch from more generic amenities at other hotels.

Three staff members were especially delightful. We sipped wine at The Manager's Reception and the bartenders, while quite busy, were efficient and pleasant. Janice and Khalid were helpful and generous with their time and comments. Amine was absolutely delightful - we never saw anyone who was so sincerely eager to help and do his job well. He kept all the tables and floor areas clean and offered helpful suggestions. It was pretty crowded, so this was no small feat. One night, we decided to have an extra glass of wine and order something to eat while sitting at a table near the bar. I had buffalo wings and my husband had a burger with fries. We expected mediocre food, but both our choices were really good! Since the drinks were "on the house" our dinner, including a tip was under $25.

Since we're Hilton Honors members, this two night stay was free (with points), but it would have been worth it even if we had to pay for it!

Room Tip: Since this is an older hotel, some rooms are more updated than others. Take a few minutes to check...

“excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I had the pleasure of staying at the Embassy Suites/Jamaican Court and it was wonderful, beautiful atomsphere, the service was great. I did had a minor glitch with houskeeping, but the situation was immediately take care of. When ever I am in Orlando again for pleasure I will only stay there. It was very affordable. The only thing that I didn't like is the flexibility of checking in. My husband had to work still and he didn't get off until 11 or 11:30 and every where we went we couldn't check in until the following morning. We were force to drive around and we came back to at 6:30 in the morning and checked in. I feel they should have let him check in since he sevice the community and the area there and was very tired and had to go back to work the morning we checked in. Other then that my stay was great. I'll be back!

Room Tip: you will enjoy it here

“Starting to show its age, but just a little bit.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I have stayed here several times over the years and it is still a very nice hotel, but it is starting to show it is an older hotel. Everything is well kept and they have done a great job keeping it looking good. The center court area is great and as always the managers reception is a nice added bonus. Janice at the bar is great and always friendly. The breakfast is above average with a made to order eggs and pancake station. The rooms are nice and clean. They have been updated over the years and have newer furniture and tv's but they do show there age in the small bathrooms and general overall feel.

I would stay here but make sure it is for the right price. There are nicer hotels nearby which can be had for around the same price.

Room Tip: IF you can get a corner room they are much larger and have a private entrance.

“Excellent breakfast with average rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

This Embassy Suites is just above average compared to others I have stayed at. The location is great though for getting to everything around town.

Room Tip: Stay away from the highway side of the hotel. They are very noisy all night.
