“An Issue of No Hot H2O or Meet Dusty & Musty”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

I reserved the Rodeway Inn for 2 days and we arrived approximately 9 pm on a Sunday and went directly to our room, which was dusty and musty. I really wanted a shower after a long road trip, but there was no hot water at all. I tried it again around 9 am the next morning and still no hot water. I waited until noon to call again. Once I reported the room number over the phone and said there is no hot water, the answer I received was "Correct". This was not the answer expected. There was a long hesitation and finally the male voice said, "I have a contractor coming out this evening." No sorry, no reduced hotel rate, just nothing! I have stayed at this Inn on other occasions; first stay was fine, second stay (2nd floor) had no air, nasty carpet, dripping faucets, and roaches in the bathroom, so we asked to be moved to another room which was somewhat better. This 3rd stay was my last, enough is enough!!!

“Haunted Hotel...scary place that should be condemned!”

Please avoid staying here at all costs! We used Roomsaver coupons and had chosen this area, as we wanted to be within walking distance of Universal Studios. It was one of the few that offered "continental breakfast" as some other cheap ones charged extra for coffee or you had to pay for breakfast. So, we thought we were being smart when the price included a microwave and refridgerator. When we asked to see a room, the young European girl at the Front Desk showed us a handicapped room, which appeared to be in good location. When we agreed to stay, we asked for a similar quiet room, but not handicapped. She gave us the keys to a room in the far back of the hotel, which was very run down. Once we opened the door, there was no bed inside the room! Back at the front desk, she was embarassed, but offered no apologies and put us into another room. Words cannot describe how unhygienic the carpets, windows, bathroom were. We went out to the pool to swim and read, but had second thoughts after seeing one of the underwater pool lights floating, with the wires connected. The outside tables were filthy dirty and looked as if it was abandoned. From the pool area, we noticed many rooms appeared to be in disarray inside. Either they must have long-term rentals for staff working nearby or rooms that have not been yet cleaned by staff. All still looked untouched by the time we checked out. The lampshades had bulb burns on them, our phone did not work, the "breakfast" was just awful. The managers, a couple, hovered around the breakfast bar every morning, rearranging the stale cellophaned muffins, sugary cereals and the weakest coffee I ever tasted. It was almost insulting, the lack of hygiene and quality. If they only spent a fraction of that energy on repairing their Hotel, it might have some business. The first morning, another guest was complaining about the offerings and commented that we were the first guests she had seen in their 4 day stay. She said her husband was there for a conference and stayed because of the "onsite restaurant". She was informed that there was no staff to cook any food and only Subway was in walking distance. We never encountered other guest except another couple with their son, who waited with us for the free bus to Universal Studios. It was very creepy, the minimal staff sit there, bored, waiting for guests that never seem to arrive. I did not think the area was safe to walk around by myself and luckily we had a car to be able to drive to eat simply. Seriously, this place should be condemned and shame shame on the on-site managers!

Room Tip: Stay away and go elsewhere...there are so many other places to choose!

“a pleasant place to stay for a few days”

pros: close to i drive and a 24 hr chevron gas station and quick shop, close i trolley stop 6.free wifi, free breakfast and free shuttel service to disney( last time we had to pay), excellent customer service.

cons: a bit dated,carpet a bit musty.

rode way inn has now replaced the imperial swan hotel.
we stayed in dec 2010 and again in dec 2011. my wife and i stayed from the 20th dec 2011 to the 26th dec 2011 and we were pleased with the improvements, there was now free wifi, free breakfast and free shuttel service to disney( last time we had to pay).
excellent customer service and a big and inviting lobby area.

other point: we went to the medieval times and arabian nights dinner shows in kissimee with mears transportation and the pick up points were days inn north hotel and four points sheraton hotel which are walking distance from rodeway.
hotel and rooms need a bit of up grading but i am sure they will after seeing all the improvements over one year.

“Never again, No credibility, charge you extra without notice”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

Dirty bathroom, bed, BUGS! Door lock was broken! Hair dryer fell offf . Keep knocking on your door for house keeping every morning even after you put the "do not disturb" on! Very noisy ! NO Hospitality ! The hotel make you sign stuff that's "mandatory " to charge you extra for parking, Internet, shuttle, even fridge in the room, and everything they can name! Most annoying part the Internet doesn't work at all ! This hotel has no credibility at all!! The worst hotel I ever went! This is the first time I ever want to write review because it was too awful to go in again! If there is 0 stars above I will definitely choose 0 , worst ever!

“Now the Rodeway Inn - hey, I got bonus points with Choice”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

This is a converted hotel that was once a cheapie "suites" near the parks that is now holding the name of Rodeway Inn. Pretty standard Rodeway Inn hotel, cheap, outdated, shabby carpet and musty. Let's face it, we're all looking for a "gem" when booking cheap hotels, in the highly unlikely chance that someone "overlooked" a great hotel with all the Comfort Suites touches. This is NOT that hotel. It was cheap and if you're a Choice Hotels points user, like I am, you got a 1,000 bonus with this. So, that works.
What was nice for this older hotel, was that it was interior corridors and thats always a plus with me. It had a grand lobby with bar and restaurant (place to get breakfast for $3.99), but the hallways were older and in much need of new carpeting and paint job. The rooms were beaten and stale, but sufficed for a night of getting an early start the next day for the parks. They didn't have many (working) channels, older TV and the showers were clean, but desperately needed retiling. It was clean, but didn't feel "clean". There was a huge bug on the wall that my husband killed (and left the smooshed corpse behind on the wall to show housekeeping). The pool area looked great from what I could see from our pool view room. It was landscaped nice, clean and clear, but alas a little too chilly for the pool. It was nice having an entrance right to the pool from our room, though. This place is doable. My standards are low when on a budget, because when I'm cheap, I get a heck of a lot more out of my money than spending it on a $99 room for my husband, myself and son.

Room Tip: Pool view at least makes nicer, if you're a swimmer!
