This was me and my partners first time at this beautiful B&B. We arrived and was greeted by Mitch who showed around the grounds and the area. He was very informative and gave us great insite on the area. He assured us that if we needed anything to feel free to contact the office. Also, stated if my iron broke, they had others if need be. Well it just so happened that the iron I had used that night did not work the next morning. Lol. That Saturday morning I took it in and the girl (not sure of her name) replaced it for us and gave me more details along with a little chat about my day. Not everywhere will you have such personalized service or staff.

The area is excellent, you are in walking distance to everywhere downtown and lake eola. Be sure to try Graffiti Junction for great burgers and for Desert be sure to try Chilly Spoons frozen yogurt. Overall I enjoyed our stay and has to be one of the best places I have ever stayed. We will be back soon!

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at the Veranda B&B for one night this past weekend, having moved from a tourist-ridden, suburban location.
We were given a warm and expansive welcome to the property by staff-member, Mitchell.
He not only showed us around the property, but he also made pertinent recommendations on restaurants and attractions in the neighborhood.
Our room was quite beautiful and well-decorated. Our only quibble was that it did not have a desk or particular place to do computer work.
The location is superb for anyone seeking an alternative to Disney World Orlando. Lake Eola is one block away...the neighborhood is an urban environment in the best sense of the word, full of excellent restaurants and walking opportunities.
I'd have given The Veranda five stars except that they hosted a large wedding party the afternoon and night we were there. Although the wedding was an elegant one, it did encompass practically the entire property.
We are frequent visitors to the Orlando area and look forward to more delightful stays at this well-located, welcoming and beautiful B&B.

Having stayed in nearly every large upscale hotel in the Orlando area over the years, this was our first stay at the Veranda Bed and Breakfast. We booked our stay here when we decided we wanted to try something different for our anniversary weekend; and we are glad we did. The Veranda is located in the heart of Orlando and mere minutes from numerous downtown restaurants, clubs, bars, lounges, coffee houses, Lake Eola, and much more. The Veranda is quant, quiet and truly an oasis in Orlando. Despite being so close to so much, once you enter the Veranda property you feel like you’ve been transported to a small historic town the likes of Savannah, etc.

The Veranda property is comprised of several historic old houses that have been converted into rental rooms and cottages. The grounds are comprised of large shade trees, brick paver path ways, shrubs and flowers. Overall, the property has an almost park-like feel to it. The plunge pool was too cold for swimming but we enjoyed the sun and pristine weather from the pool deck. Unfortunately, the whirlpool heater was not working so did not get to enjoy that. But relaxing outside around the pool during the day was otherwise nearly perfect. At night we enjoyed all the fun hot spots that Orlando and Thornton Park have to offer.

The historic cottages have a very comfortable and home-like feel to them. While not perfect (some prior repairs were clearly meant to be temporary), the rooms and cottages were quiet and cozy. We felt like we were actually staying in a friend or family home! And the staff only further enforced this feeling by being friendly and very accommodating. Mitchel, the innkeeper, was the perfect host! He really made us feel “at home” and took a real interest in our comfort and needs.

If you are looking for 4 or 5 star accommodations with resort-like amenities, resort-like pricing and resort-like crowds, then this place isn’t for you. But if you want to be close to everything and yet enjoy your privacy in a cozy peaceful environment at a very fair price, then you should really enjoy the Verandah. Of all the extremely nice hotels and resorts in the Orlando area that we have stayed at, my fiancé said the Verandah was her favorite. We intend to make this our first choice for whenever we visit Orlando in the future.

When I stay at place this expensive I expect to have a breakfast that is more than I would get at a Holiday Inn Express. Cereal, fruit, yogurt, and store bought wrapped rolls (like the ones you get at the 7-11 across the street) are NOT what I would expect. When we tried to check in, the sign on the door said that they would be back soon, but were still on the property, so we waited about half an hour and finally called the after hours number. Soon after a young man showed up in his car from off property.

The room was alright, but not $175/night alright. The worst part was that both of the smoke detectors had been removed from the room. Wires were actually dangling from the ceiling where one they had been removed. The 'pool' is only 3'5" and very tiny and the jacuzzi looked to be in sad shape. Finally, the live band playing outside at the restaurant across the street played until the wee hours of the night and was so loud, we could hear it from inside our room. The location is awesome, but I would only pay about $50/night to stay here at most.
