“Timeshare apartment blocks – not a hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We were moved to this hotel as our original choice was unavailable. I would not have chosen stay here. This is a timeshare apartment block– not a hotel. Unfortunate and unexpected things happen – its all about how you deal with them. This place has a lot to learn. Stay October 2011. Travelled with Husband.

What it did have

Good sized stove & fridge
Jacuzzi in the bath situated in the Master Bedroom (ie the only bath and its not in the bathroom)
Free Cockroaches
Drunken Teens with crates and jugs of booze hanging out in the lobby at night
Excessive amounts of dust in the room

What it didn’t have

Free Internet / Wifi
Nearby shops (5-10 minute walk just to purchase water not from a vending machine!)
Late Checkout
Running hot or cold water for the best part of 24 hours
More than one lift that worked – serving the entire tower (there should have been 4). We were on the 14th Floor. 20 -30 minutes to get in a lift that wasn’t already full.
Helpful or accommodating reception staff
Regular Cleaning (other than emptying the bins and making the bed (oh and loading the dishwasher to wash just 3 glasses (2 hour cycle). The bathroom was not cleaned once the 7 nights we were there. The bins weren’t emptied, towels replaced or the beds made for the last 4 days of the holiday, the first of these days being the day we had no water. Therefore no flushing toilets.....Nice.) To be fair, when we reported this on the 3rd night to reception they emptied the bins and replaced the towels within an hour. No clean sheets or other room cleaning though.
Complimentary Bottled Water
Adequate transport links (although on the trolley – it was the quieter, infrequent line, not serving I-Drive - sometimes we were the only people on this trolley)
Hotel is located in a lonely area, and there was a lack of pavements and street lights when having to walk back to the hotel from I-Drive. I wouldnt want to do this alone.

Room Tip: Choose somewhere else!

You are correct, we are not a hotel. We are a resort that offers fully furnished 2 bedroom villas equipped with a washer and dryer, fully stocked kitchens and more! The resort is located in an ideal location with restaurants and shops just minutes away. We do offer vacation ownership and well as nightly rentals. We have an active pest control program in place for our entire resort and guest villas. Our security team is available 24/7 to handle any issues guests may have. We apologize for the inconveniences you experienced while staying with us. Guest satisfaction is our top priority so we would have done everything we could to ensure that you enjoyed your stay with us. We appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention as we will be addressing them as part of our normal monthly training routine. We do hope that you will give us another opportunity to exceed your expectations!

“excellent family value propery”

Was a little bit aprehensive after reading recent reports on this property but am glad to report that we had a very good experience at this hotel. I would definitly recommend it to friends and family as it is well placed for eating out Tgi fridays , pizza hut, burger king and chillis are all within 5mins walk, shopping and visiting the parks.and even if you dont drive you will never be far away from an i-drive trolley stop. My son made very good use of the pool and basketball court and all the outside areas were kept spotlessly clean and despite previous reports of unsavoury characters hanging around we didnt see any of this. The apartment itself was very spacious and well laid out and if you want to cook rather than eat out you will find excellent facilites to do so and as wallmart is only a 5min drive away its very convienient to stock up there.I Made good use of the washer and tumble dryer and was able to pack my case with much less than I would normally as it was so easy to wash our clothes when needed. Our towels were changed regulary but our bed linen was only changed once during the 12 days that we were there but i suppose If you wanted it changed more I am sure they will oblige. My only gripes would be that you have to pay extra for any cleaning and our apt got quite dusty toward the end of the holiday as other than the general sweep of the floor that i did the maid did not clean at all in our room and the first few days of our holiday the hotel was very busy and it was a nightmare in the carpark as cars were parking anywhere making it tricky driving in and out of available carpark spaces.Despite my husbands early fears that we would spend an age waiting for the lifts as we were on the 17th flooe we experienced no problems, and the views high up were amazing. If you are going to visit in the summer months this will be a very good spot as there is a pool bar where parents can unwind after a day in the park whilst the kids spend the evening relaxing in the pool.

Room Tip: If you got a head for heights request a high floor we were on the 17th and the view over i-drive, we...

“Excellent self catering, family accommodation on I drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Booked online with the hotel website directly and got a good price for a 12 night stay (24 Dec to 5 Jan) with every 4 th night free offer, so paid for only 9 nights. Under £100 per night for a two bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with a fully equipped kitchen was a fantastic price. This could sleep six, so it was very comfortable for 4 of us (including 2 big boys). Three flat screen TVs, each with a DVD player (region 1 only).
I had phoned them before arrival to ask if there was a dishwasher or not. The answer I got was "we provide everything except food". This was absolutely true. Even dishwasher powder and bin bags were provided.
Room was cleaned daily. So there was an excessive supply of towels, toiletries etc.
Front desk staff was very helpful, polite and accommodating over the entire 12 day period from check in till check out. Always provided accurate information.
Reviews describing them as rude and unhelpful are inaccurate.
Access to the tower, lift and rooms was very secure.
We found free shuttle service very useful, early and late going out in the morning and early and late coming back in the evening. This covered Epcot and universal. Also covered premium outlet at international drive (north end).
Shuttle required prior booking, but this was hassle free and allowed enough flexibility. Driver would let us stand if the bus was full. As I was not keen on hiring a car, this was very convenient as well as saved us a lot of money. Shuttle would take us to Universal in only 10 min. We would be inside the park before 9 am, and could cover a lot of attractions by midday, when crowds would build up. We could watch the wishes fireworks at Magic Kingdom and still return on the shuttle.
I-trolley and Lynx bus stops (and wet n wild and Titanic) were within walking distance.
Tall towers of Westgate towers are visible from a distance, this was always useful when walking back to hotel.
On arrival, I was asked about attending a time share presentation, which I politely declined. No one bothered me again with this. Please disregard the reviews describing this hotel as a time share reservation. That is not true. It is entirely up to you.

Would happily stay here again and recommend to anyone looking for a self catering, family accommodation near I drive and Universal.

Room Tip: Please request lakeside view room. We could even see Hogwart's castle from out room.

“Would Reccomend”

We stayed over the New Years weekend. We asked for a early check in as our flight was arriving at 9AM. They had us in our room before noon and also supplied the crib we had asked for. Check in was fast and easy. We stayed in building B with a lake view on the back side. The building is secure as you need a room key to enter the building and to open the elevator. During the evening hours hotel security was very visible around the parking lot. The suite had 2 bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with 2 twin beds. In the middle was the sitting area and kitchen with all the amenities we needed including full size refrigerator and washer / dryer. There are numerous restaurants/shops within walking distance as well as universal studios. We did not use the pool but other guests told us it was heated.
We would not hesitate to stay here again if we return to the area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a lake view.
