Yes I am 14 years old, but I am known by friends and family to be a very good critique. To start out, I just completed a four night stay (January 27th-January 30th) in a two bedroom suite with me in one room and my parents in the other. The Residence Inn Lake Buena Vista Hotel is very good looking on the outside- You've got palm trees, lots of flowers, bushes, and an outdoor pool area along with a bar. In the pool area, there is the main pool, a hot tub, and a small pool for little kids (which is somewhat hard to find as it is hidden in a corner behind a waterfall/fountain.
On to the inside-Unlike the new design for Residence Inns, you don't have the conduction stove tops, or the stainless steel refrigerators. Instead, you have a normal fridge, with burners and an oven, with a microwave. The flat screens are a big hit, but the quality is like pizza hut to Wolf Gang Puck's Pizza. The beds are nice. Not to hard, not to soft, just right. HOWEVER! the rooms can get very humid causing difficulty in breathing (especially for people with asthma like me). Somehow, the humidity crept into the sheets too make them feel, well not damp, but as if there was moisture on the sheets. The bathrooms are very nice. I am 5' 2" and the shower head was very close to my head. The force of the water was fine, except for the toilets which were very weak in my room. House keeping is great, sheets are washed every 3 days, so if you are germaphobic, ask for the sheets to be washed every day. The maids also run the dishwasher every day which was nice.
B-R-E-A-K-F-A-S-T: My new favorite meal of the day! That is right I actually got up early for this! The food and staff is phenomenal! This feast fit for a king includes: Mickey waffles (three waffle makers), toppings for mickey waffles, donuts, bagels, breads, muffins, biscuits, Bacon, Canadian Bacon, Beef Hash (only these meats rotate every day), Sausage patties (regular daily meat), Eggs, Tortillas, croissants, oatmeal, grits, juice, milk, fresh fruit! AND TO TOP IT OFF, A SEATING AREA THAT COULD FIT 200 PEOPLE!
The hotel layout is very confusing. Imagine a base ball diamond, but the home plate is missing.....no complete circuit. In other words, its a diamond shaped building with a gap between the entrance and guest rooms between third and home plate. That means you have to go a lll the way around IF YOU NEED TO STAY INDOORS. They do have themed entrances as the staff notice that the layout is a problem. So you simply go from "BETWEEN THIRD AND HOME PLATE DOOR" TO " HOME PLATE DOOR" WHICH MEANS YOU NEED TO WALK 20 FEET OUTSIDE.
Staff- Very enthusiastic. They care about their guests! They tended to my family's every need. A lot of the staff are also spanish speaking so if spanish is your first language this will be a good hotel for you. I would personally like to make a shout out to CAROLINA who worked in the dining area-all out fantastic. thank
you! Be warned if you do not like being interrupted during your morning breakfast, take your
meal to your room as they will try to socialize with you.
I did not use the shuttle, but it sounds very limited. It only goes to EPCOT.
game room-I have seen better at a roller skating rink.
The market is pricey, they wanted $7 for a bag of chips where you can get it at Walmart for $2. GO TO WALMART IT WILL SAVE YOUR BUTT!
This hotel is a Good Neighbor hotel for Disney. This means they sell tickets- no bargain.... its the same price. Unless you get them from under cover Tourist.
All in All, This hotel is a great hotel for families and provides quality Residence Inn service. It is cheap and worth it. However, it is at the end of PALM PARKWAY which consists of 1,000 plus hotels and restaurants.
I would definitely stay here again!
Room Tip: Choose a room on the inside. Our room was away from the highway and was on the outside and we still...
