“Great location great breakfast staff so so front desk.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Considering that the front desk is considered the "welcome" of a hotel not sure why this hotel's front desk wasn't just that. Upon arrival I got a "may I help you" like I interrupted their convo. No smile, no confirmation of my reservation no "enjoy your stay".

The breakfast staff provided speedy, efficient and friendly service and was very polite. Pretty clean sleeping room. Would return if Front Desk was a bit more welcoming.

“DONT STAY HERE!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Stay away from this one! The most rude staff I have ever seen! Front desk was a joke! Bad attitude, seemed to be bothered that we were checking in and interrupting their conversation. We were booked there for 6 days pre-paid, so we were stuck. We knew from the first 5 minutes we had made a huge mistake. The room was small and smelly. No towels. We had to ask for towels everyday and again the front desk seemed bothered we were asking, even questioned why I had called. Mind you we are not high maintenance people and rarely make a front desk call. The hot tub was dirty, again, no towels at the pool. The breakfast was a disaster, the staff was always stressed and couldn’t keep up with the people that were coming in. All in all it was a very stressful experience. This was an annual vacation we take to the Orlando area and each year we look forward to it as a family as a chance to relax. Not this year! The walls were paper thin, you could hear conversations in the rooms on either side. Each morning the staff would gather in the hallway at 5:30 am to laugh and chat before beginning to clean the rooms. Even though we had a “do not disturbe” sign on the door, most days there would be a knock and an attempt to enter the room while were sleeping (6:30 – 7:00 am). The Wi-Fi barely worked, when we called to inquire at the front desk, we were told it was an outside company and we could call the service man if we wanted but he was off for a few days. When my husband asked for a cup of coffee at the restaurant (which we had been in for approximately 20minutes with no service) he was chewed out by the young man serving our table. Such attitude again. This was the daily experience. Upon our check out several people were at the front desk complaining with the same issues we had. They were all told as were we “It’s not our problem, you need to talk to the booking agent you used, your rooms were pre-paid”. I think this whole “pre-paid” room value is a ploy to give you bad service and basically do what ever they want. The only bright spot in the whole experience was the young woman who worked in the restaurant. She tried to be friendly and helpful each day but the poor thing was so stressed at one point I even tried to console her. If you want to enjoy your time in Orlando, feel safe and secure and be treated as a customer, please DO NOT stay here! It is not worth the way you are treated! Plenty of nice hotels with comparable rates in the area that offer more and most importantly are courteous!!

Room Tip: Stay at another hotel in the area.

“Place needs renovations but still a great location.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We have stayed here a few times now, mostly due to its location, but this most recent trip showed the wear and tear this place has had. The bathrooms are worn, with the fixtures near replacement. Staff is friendly, but we still eat breakfast elsewhere ($9.99 buffet is steep compared to nearby restaurants). There is never any hot water available in the lobby only coffee, so tea drinkers beware. It's a better hotel than the nearby Comfort Suites, but I wouldn't pay full rack rate to stay here.

Room Tip: You want to be on the third floor if at all possible. Noise does travel between floors.

“A good place to stay for a quick visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

This is a lovely hotel in appearance, and the room I stayed in was generous-sized with lots of nice decorative details. Very quiet as well. However, there are needed updates on the bones of the room, as signs of age and wear are apparent. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful when I checked in at nearly 10 p.m. The two there in the morning seemed distracted and only made the "may I help you" eye contact when I approached and stood there for a few seconds. No other guests were at the desk. They weren't unfriendly, just dealing with the things that need to be taken care of in the a.m., I suppose. It's not an inexpensive hotel, and I was surprised to see that both breakfast options cost nearly $10. By request, I managed to get a small portion of cottage cheese and pineapple for $5, but this was not graciously granted. Would I stay there again? Probably. Would I recommend? If a friend had money to spare.
