“Clean, Cheap and Close...What More Could you ask for?”

We stayed at the Orlando Hotel and Suites this past weekend for a trip to Universal Studios. The location couldn't have been better, on the same road as Universal about 5 minutes away. Having annual passes to both Disney and Universal and because we only live an hour away, we have stayed in many, many hotels over the years. We usually always go for the ones with 1 or more bedrooms and a full kitchen because we have 3 children. This time we stayed in the queen 1 bedroom suite. We were happy with both the size and cleanliness of the rooms. There are two vanities with sinks (one in the shower, toilet area and one just outside of it). This was very convenient. The two queen beds were comfortable and clean. The pull out sofa didn't have much padding, but it worked for our teenager. We didn't make a meal, but could have if needed. There were several pots and pans and enough service for 4. I was happy that there was an icemaker and an ice bucket with machines in the hallway so you had that option. The onsite amenities are not the greatest, but not bad. There is a workout room (very small) and a small pool with a hot tub (the hot tub was not working and was roped off, this was a little disappointing). The lobby was nicely decorated and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. The highlight of this hotel is the free full breakfast. You get two free adult coupons and kids 12 and under eat free. My husband doesn't usually eat breakfast, so we didn't have to pay anything. This saved us around $50 or more. I was very happy with the selection as well. There was toast, bagels, cereal, fresh fruit, eggs, homefries, pancakes, Bacon or sausage, a fresh waffle maker, oatmeal, coffee, milk, orange juice and all the fixings for everything. We tried most of it and it was good. The only thing I didn't try was the eggs because they looked watery. It was a buffet, so you could also go back and get more. Did I mention the price of this place yet? Only $54 a night!! The place wasn't perfect, there were a few minor flaws, but they were all minor and easy to overlook. To me, the most important thing to look for in a hotel is cleanliness and the second is value. Orlando Hotel and Suites hit the mark on both! We will be back.

“Great place for the money”

Traveling with my wife and 9 year old son. We stayed two nights.
The Hotel was clean, front desk was polite and pleasant. The room was clean, comfortable, had a great shower (good water pressure), beds were very comfortable.
This hotel has a great location, easy to get in and out of, plenty of parking.
The free breakfast buffet was more than adequate. Cold and hot choices started our day right and the coffee was quite good, I thought
We found a great deal online for this property.

“very roomy condo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This hotel used to be a holiday Inn so had the marble floors, big reception area, nice large eating room with many tables and a hot buffet breakfast bar
.Our 1 bed. condo was nice and roomy, with a kitchen, living area and 2 queen beds in the bedroom. We had our granddaughter with us so it was nice having 2 TV's and the extra room.
The bathroom tub area needs to be rehabbed and the shower water was very slow in going down the drain. When I told them about it at the front desk they said the Marriott owns it now and the whole hotel is going to rehabbed in 6 mo.or so.
The sad part of that is we will never get the great rate of $67.00/ngt. for a 1 bed. condo again.

“Satisfactory budget hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

This is a former high-end Holiday Inn, so there were lots of nice things like tile floor in the bathroom, nice room layout which included a mini-fridge and microwave and a comfortable bed, office chair, and couch. But, everything is rather worn and a bit dingy; it's a luxury hotel which wasn't kept up. We appreciated the free breakfast each morning, but on our 4th and final morning of the exact same items on the buffet ... powdered eggs, sausage, fried potatoes, a limited variety of cold cereals, bread, bagels, and orange juice ... we were happy that our stay ended after 4 days. The eating area was large with nice tables and chairs, and the breakfast was actually fine ... just got boring day after day. We interacted with lots of staff members during our stay, and found all to be pleasant and helpful. We were in town for a convention at the OCCC ... we were hoping it would be walking distance, and it sort of was, but took a half hour each way. Bottom line ... we got a fantastic rate on our room and we would stay there again if the same rate was available.

“Recommend suites for budget and family travel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

We booked the suites through Bookit.com and enjoyed the kitchen, spacious room and free breakfast. The location is not close to Magic Kingdom but it's an easy drive. The only problems we have is we were given a smoking suites vs. non-smoking. We were told that the hotel was fully booked when checking in; and the noise in the parking lot in the morning makes sleep hard. Other than these, we recommend and will consider again when choosing hotel in that area.

Room Tip: Our room facing the front parking lot so it's noisy in the morning.
