I was initially a little nervous about booking here after reading some of the reviews, but I'm glad I did. I wanted a long weekend at a resort that didn't involve as much walking around as Disney (went with someone currently undergoing treatment for cancer). We brought a 9 and 10 year old girl, and they LOVED the place. We did too. The suites are well-appointed/perfectly set up for adults & kids and very clean. The hotel staff is extremely friendly, the grounds are well-maintained, and they do a great job catering to the kids. The food choices are good (the sit down restaurant had very good food), and the alcoholic drinks are reasonably priced. We went wild and purchased an "ultimate slime" experience for the girls, and they loved it. The pools are nice--too bad one of the slides was under construction while we were there. We got poolside massages, which I'd highly recommend. We also rented a cabana to watch the Patriots/Ravens play off game. All in all, a very nice little resort. No, it's not incredibly upscale or as extensive as Disney, but great for what it is.

I arrived at the Nick Hotel and was immediatley greeted witha smile. The staff is attentive and accomodated my needs. They answered all my questions. If you have any concerns or issues just simply call the front desk and fix it immediately. it was lots of fun and our family cannot wait to go back. My kids enjoyed it very much. I have no idea what resort some of these reviewers stayed at, but it sure wasn't this one. The infamous "mildew smell" doesn't exist here. My family and I came up on a weekend getaway for my daughter bday. We booked a two bedroom suite with the Spongebob theme, the no door for the kids room was not an issue for us. The queen size mattress was a bit small for my taste but comfortable nonetheless. My room overlooks the pool and I don't hear a sound coming from the pool but even if you do, you're at a kids resort, what do you expect? The complaints about a long check-in is yet another misleading statement people have made. I arrived at 3pm and was unpacking my bags by 3:20 but I'm also not the type to ask a lot of questions when I check-in but you shouldn't need to as they're very detailed in giving all info to you. Please do not come here expecting Disney top of the line quality when you already know thats not what you booked!!! Overall I loved it, very nice getaway, would come again for sure!!!

When down in Orlando this year (we go every year) we decided to try the Nic Hotel out for one night to see if it could be a weeklong stay hotel for us. We checked in ok and the hotel room looked nice (Sponge Bob theme in the kids room). One of the cloths drawers had a handle that fell off… no big deal. The trouble started when we tried to go to bed. To say the walls are thin and you can hear through them is an understatement. We were on the 5th floor and you could hear the pool noise as well as conversations in the adjacent rooms (IE. On the left of us, they were complaining about the lines at Universal Studio Harry Potter. On the right, they were talking about how good the meal was at Le Celier in EPCOT (I have to agree with that one… it is good). We turned on the air conditioning fan for some white noise and it helped enough to get to sleep. The fun started when we started getting phone calls at 11pm. Seems the security and lost/found line got redirected to our room. When the front desk called Security, and I said they reached a hotel room, they hung up. They then called back 2 minutes later and when I again said it was a room, the person said… “This is a room and not security?”… I heard laughing in the back ground and then they hung up. I was tired and just went back to bed (We had an early flight in the morning). About 11:45pm we got another call from the front desk… this time I asked for a manager. I had to hold for 5 minutes while they contacted one. The manager apologized but then asked me to hang up and they were going to “test” to see if our phone rang again and that they would be sending someone up to our room. At this point, I let them know we needed to get sleep (and that my kids were sleeping) and I could not help them to diagnose the issue. I then disconnected the phones from the wall and slept the rest of the night. I’m assuming that anyone who called security that night didn’t get through. I hope there weren’t any emergencies that required security. When we checked out in the morning, nothing was mentioned about the issue. Needless to say, I would NOT recommend staying here. Hope this helps others thinking about staying at this hotel.
