“Amazing hotel - family of 4”

Just come back from an amazing holiday staying at the Coronado Springs Resort with 2 adults and 2 children (6and 4). Check in was brilliant, lots of smiles and made the kids feel special after a long flight from the UK.
We stayed in Casitas block 3 room 3264. Amazing view of the lake and of the Epcot fireworks every night at 9pm.
The rooms were lovely, clean and very spacious. Bathrooms need updating but your not in it long,. Our beds were made up and rooms cleaned every day. (Would recommend that you ask for a lake view as i wouldnt have been pleased if we got a road view).
The pool was amazing and the entertainment team were brilliant, kids loved playing all the games and roasting marshmallows at the end of the day around the campfire.
This resort is full of people using the convention centre, but this is perfect for when you want to go to the parks as there was never any queues for our bus at the hotels or at the parks. Brilliant. The buses were very frequent and you always got a seat.
My daughter got chicken pox on the last day and therefore we could not fly home for another week the hotel staff were amazing, from the hotel manager to the people cleaning our rooms, Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was always asking about our daughter and if they could help further. Amazing Customer Service.
Definately recommend this hotel to families for a perfect holiday and if anyone complains about this hotel then they must be mad.
We would definately go back and I have already recommended it to many families back in the uk.

Room Tip: Ask for Casitas block 3 facing lake, beautiful and close to reception and restaurants. Also a nice w...

“Better than expected from a Moderate Resort!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

After waiting over an hour just to board the DME bus from the airport, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the resort. Check-in was simple and we took a few minutes to get acquainted with the layout. Coronado Springs is pretty large and spread out around the "lagoon".

We stayed in Casita building 5 (the farthest Casita building away from the main buildings). Quick walk to one of the bus stops, at least a 5-8 minute walk to El Centro (lobby and restaurants). Enjoyed being a little farther away from some of the pools, shopping, etc. made for a quiet stay! We requested a ground level room, which was WONDERFUL after walking around the parks all day, no extra walking or stairs to get to our room once we got back. Water view was definitely worth the little bit of extra money so we didn't hear all the traffic noise of the buses and vehicles traveling around the resort "loop".

Room was clean and well kept. Was nice to have a separate vanity area from the toilet/shower. Beds were wonderful and very comfortable!

Pepper Market was the BEST quick-service food spot we found throughout all the parks! Something for everyone and a very wide menu. Never left hungry, and never got tired of the food since it was above and beyond the typical hamburger/turkey wrap quick-service place.

Since this is one of the convention centers there weren't as many kids and families at this resort. Made things pretty quiet - nice for us adults who just wanted a break after a day in the parks.

Would definitely stay here again! Bus service was good overall, never waited more than 10-15 minutes for a bus. Was typically a 20 minute ride to any of the other parks. (Animal KIngdom was a little shorter, but Coronado is closest to that park). There are 3 bust stop areas around the resort though, so you always had to go around the loop before leaving to your destination it seemed. Wasn't a big deal for us since we were in vacation mode I guess.

One main "dig site" pool with slide and bar which we visited a couple times but didn't stay long. Was pretty crowded every time we went or walked by! We enjoyed a couple of the other quieter pools tucked around the themed building areas instead.

Overall, it was so much nicer than what we were blindly expecting from a "moderate resort"! We are not super fancy people so we were more than content with the basics. Service from everyone was great and we would love to return either as a couple or a family!

Room Tip: Ask for Cabanas or Casitas areas to be closest to lobby/food. Ranchos area is farthest away, but cl...

“Really disappointed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

The rooms are very small. A family of 5 would not be able to fit a roll away in the room to accommodate the extra person. the toilet/shower area you have to step in a space between the two to close the door, that's how small it is. There is a closet, but it's not enclosed. Maid service can come at anytime. One day it was 9am and the next it was after 4 and they really don't clean that well. I wanted to see if they would clean the mugs or put them back. My wife put some lipstick inside a mug and we turned over all the other mugs so it looked like they were all dirty. When we came back to the room the lipstick mug was still there. If she would have washed, or even rinsed them, it would have washed away. Not the cleanest of hotels. The Casitas are a long walk from the main building. Bring walking shoes and expect to walk a lot. The food at the restaurants is just ok. Maya Grill is the best of all of them, but it's only open for dinner and gets crowded pretty easily. There is a little store that sells pastries, coffee, fruit, etc. (our family referred to it as the am/pm market because it was small and the food was really bad, even the parfait was watery and the prepackaged fruit wasn't fresh). Bottomline: If you are like us and waited a long time to go to Disney World, go somewhere else and get your money's worth.

“Be careful if you book through a third party site”

If you go, I recommend booking direct with Disney. I booked with Orbitz, and even though Orbitz said it was "confirmed" and gave me a "hotel confirmation number", when I called Disney the night before I was to check in, they had no reservation listed for me. Even after I spent 4 hours on the phone on hold with different Disney and Orbitz agents, they couldn't figure it out, and eventually I talked them into giving me a refund. Luckily, I could still book direct with Disney. Calling is a good idea, so you can figure out where your room will be--the resort is large, and it can be a half mile walk from some of the rooms to the front desk and food places. It's a nice walk, but you might want to know where your room is going to be.

Overall, I felt like I got what I paid for. This wasn't a super luxury experience, but the overall setup is really quite nice--the buildings reflected in the water are as pretty as they look on the web site, for example. And there are little perks of staying at a "moderate" rather than a cheaper property--for example it's the last bus stop on the way to the airport, and the first drop off on the way from the airport.

Room Tip: If you don't book direct, call to be sure they got the booking and that you like the room locati...

“Enjoyable stay”

We arrived after a frustrating time trying to find the Disney bus location at the airport and struggled with all our luggage as did not realize that room was so far away from front area (we arranged for golf cart to pick us up with luggage when we left).
The room was adequate but not spacious and did not have microwave. Airconditioner and fan welcomed in the room. We were lucky that we were located in Casita Building 4, half way down lake with a bus stop just behind the car park of our block which made getting on and off bus easy, swimming pool downstairs as well as laundry. We paid for a water view but there was a big tree so no view. The walk to the front reception wasn't as bad without luggage. Being at resort meant that the buses went directly to the various parks and ran every 1/2 hour so didn't have to deal with massive crowds or lengthy bus rides.

We had purchased the dining plan (had too much food allocation) and used all the on-site facilities. Breakfast and some evening meals we just went to Pepper Market and brought food back to our room and enjoyed the Mexican restaurant (Maya Grill) some nights. We also made good use of the refillable cups for both coffee and sodas and mainly did the refills at the cafe.

My only regret is that we never walked right around the lake to see all the facilities.

Enjoyable stay and would stay here again.

Room Tip: Building 4 was not too far to reception and restaurants but close to bus stop which was 1st pick up...
