“Disney Experience Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Stayed here while at the IBM Lotusphere conference. The hotel is very clean and well mangaged but you can't avoid the 'Disney' experience which is fine if that's your thing but it's not mine.

I really can't fault the hotel in terms of comfort, cleanliness and service and a great location if you are into theme parks. It was also good as a conference hotel. You are rather insulated from the real Orlando so the choice is yours.

Room Tip: The hotel is huge and it can be quite a long walk from reception to the rooms

“One of Disney's best!”

Although a bit expensive, a very beautiful , comfortable, and relaxing resort. It has the best pool on Disney property (shared with the Yacht club). There are many food choices here and at the Boardwalk across the lake: I enjoyed ESPN Club, Big River Grille, and Cape May Cafe. The area is very fun at night. epcot is a five minute walk, the Studios are a 10 minute boat ride. If cost is not important or you can splurge, you won't be disappointed with this resort.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the lobby, it's a long resort. If your not timid, ask if any upgrades ar...

“Everything we hoped for and more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

The hotel was better than we hoped for! We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so were disappointed to be given a room with two beds. We spoke with the hotel staff about the dearth of king beds and were amazed at their generosity - we were upgraded to the most amazing room on the top floor, king bed, overlooking the water! The hotel staff epitomized everything great about Disney! Our greatest disappointment was not with the hotel but with the parks. We had been told that the parks typically had lower occupancy during December, and that was not our experience. What was so appreciated about the Beach Club was that we could escape the frenetic parks environment and just be surrounded by calm at the Beach Club. Amazingly, we were usually the only people in the pool! As for walking, we averaged 12 miles per day. Although it isn't advertised, we found well-lit walking paths that connected us with other resorts and parks. Overall, superb!

Room Tip: Away from the pools

“Disney Magic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I really cannot say enough good things about the Beach Club resort, this was our 3rd stay here, and this time we got a little extra Disney magic in the form of an upgrade from our regular, garden view rooms to concierge level with a gorgeous view of the pool and the surrounding hotels. I've never been all that impressed with hotel views at Disney, (we've never paid a premium for them or anything) but this was so spectacular, I could have literally spent the entire vacation on the balcony.

Our group consisted of 5 adults and 1 child (3) staying in two rooms, the first night, our rooms were far apart, the next night we were moved to connecting rooms. The room switching was quite painless, we just handed our bags to bell services for storage and got a text message in the parks when the rooms were ready.

Our first room was a corner room with a king size bed and an enormous balcony (easily twice the size of the one we got in our next room) but we found all the extra space kind of wasted (there was a really long hallway to the bed, it was just not an ideal layout) the second room was much more practically laid out and included a daybed.

The rooms were very clean, housekeeping was good and prompt (my favorite part of concierge service was being able to pick your housekeeping time. We've had issues in the past with housekeeping arriving JUST as we put the toddler down for a nap) the beds remain, in my opinion, the most comfortable I've slept in at Disney. Transportation was okay, we did get left behind on the dock by an almost empty boat going to Hollywood Studios, but this sort of thing happens. Had no trouble with the buses on this trip, but did use our cars to go to dinner reservations at other resorts.

The concierge lounge offerings were tasty, and the food was replenished often, it was very convenient to get breakfast in the concierge lounge, and the atmosphere on the 5th floor in general was much more relaxed and serene than the hectic lobby below. The concierge desk was also very convenient for getting tickets and getting an answer to general questions, and the staff was very friendly. I'm not sure I'd actually book a concierge level room in the future, because we generally have all of our reservations and plans set before we arrive, so we didn't utilize a lot of the amenities, but it was still an extra special surprise, and the view was incredible. (and who can complain about free alcohol?)

Room Tip: Make sure you request a full balcony, a large number of rooms at the hotel have balconies that are o...

“Favourite hotel, when we can book it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

So often find that this hotel is not available for short durations. We travel from the UK, and tend to move around hotels, near the attraction we are visiting. (4 days Hard Rock Hotel, 4 Days Disney, 4 Days Cruise ) I have found it hard to get this hotel for any less than a week on quite a few occasions.

Combine with a disney cruise, but do the cruise last. Otherwise you will feel the hotel is lacking something, which it is not.

Great pool, fabulous staff. (Thank-you all) - Superb location.

Occasional problems with rooms quickly resolved. Small shop suffering from the usual petty Disney over pricing...

Very Disney, very family. Great Quality.

Room Tip: Some have Board Walk views some do not. Who cares? were here for the parks.
