“Not To Bad At All”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2012 NEW

My wife and I spent two nights at this property - we are essentially locals but like coming over to Orlando, staying in the area, and going to Disney to use our annual passes. I chose this property based on price and location.

First the pros:
This place is in the perfect location. Literally. It is close to all sorts of great restaurants, close to Disney, close to shopping, and close to the Interstate.
The check-in process was flawless. We were in our room within 10 minutes of arrival on property.
Each and every employee we encountered was cordial, professional, friendly, and welcoming. This was especially true of the staff members working the front desk area.
Our TV wasn't working properly and a call to the front desk netted a repair within 10 minutes.
The room was spacious and overlooked the pool.
The pool area was wonderful - lots of chairs, umbrellas, and room.
The pool bar was awesome.

Now the cons:
Parking. Or the lack of it. I went in knowing that I would be paying $10/night for the parking. I realize that this has become to standard but because of construction there simply are not enough spaces. We got back from Disney just after midnight and there was no choice but to use the Valet. Fortunately, because it was their fault, they only charged us the regular parking rate and no additional for the Valet service.
Hot water - we would turn on the shower and wait for upwards of 10 minutes for the water to get hot. (on the 5th floor of building 3) This wasn't an issue once we got to know it but don't get up expecting to turn on the water and hop right in.
No housekeeping!!! We left the first morning around 9 am and did not return until around 4 pm. Our room had not been made up. No fresh towels, beds not made up - you get the idea. I called the front desk and she said "It might be as late as 4:30 before they get to your room." When the maid finally showed up she only had bath towels and it was after 5. They definitely need to tighten up on this one. This single aspect of our stay lowered their overall score one mark all by itself.

Summary:
This place would have earned the highest marks possible had it not been for the total lack of housekeeping services. The room was fairly clean when we checked in but one of the things you sort of grow to expect (and hope for) is a nice clean room when you return from a day's adventures. Coming in and not being able to shower was a disappointment.
But overall, given the price, location, professionalism of the staff, comfort level of the beds and room, the big question is whether or not we would stay at this resort again? The answer is an absolute and no hesitation yes. The inconveniences were not outweighed by the conveniences and, in a couple of months when the construction is complete, the parking won't even be an issue any longer.

Just turn the shower on a few minutes before you intend on getting in.
Don't come back expecting the room to be cleaned and made up.
And while the construction is still going on, be prepared to use Valet.

Room Tip: Pool view with a balcony - almost every room has this.

“Recent $29 million refurbishment makes this a solid 3.5 star hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2012 NEW

This hotel has always had the advantage of a good location close to I-4, Downtown Disney and easy access to all of the theme parks. Over the past few years, the hotel has shown its wear and resulted in a hopelessly run down and over-priced hotel.

With the recent refurbishment, the hotel is now vastly improved from its former self. Lobby and common areas are nicely appointed and clean. The pool area is large and well maintained. Best of all, the rooms now have flat screen TV's, updated furniture and the fantanstic beds that Sheraton hotels are known for. We had a room on the 5th floor which was identified as a Starwood Preferred floor and the room was nice and quiet. There are really no rooms in this hotel that have a "view". Even though we were on the 5th floor, our view was that of a Pizza Hut and parking lots. If you want the view you have to pay a higher price than this hotel. We booked on Priceline for $75 per night in mid-May.

If you want walking distance to restaurants, the must be every chain restaurant within walking distance of the Sheraton. The walk to Downtown Disney is possible, but a long walk if you have kids.

Hotel staff was experienced and attentive to our needs.

We visit Disney about 12 times per year and have stayed in just about every category of hotel around the area. This one rates as a solid option for those that want the convenience and access of the hotel location and can do without the views that much more expensive hotels charge.

We did not use the restaurant on this stay but it appeared to be nothing special and more than adequate for a breakfast stop in the morning.

Room Tip: If you have kids get a room on the first floor that has a view of the pool area. Great access and y...

“Goodbye Safari, Hello Lake Buena Vista”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2012 NEW

Have stayed here when it was the hotel previously known as the Sheraton Safari. After a major upgrade this hotel is basically brand new. And it shares nothing with the Safari except for the parking lot. The staff is excellent. The new rooms are great. It is amazing to see what can be done during an upgrade. I WILL stay here again.

“Disney Trip”

Stayed in a Junior suite with two doubles and a double fold out couch. The beds were wonderful and to my amazement the fold out bed was more comfortable than most motel beds. Had a great pool area open long hours with a tiki bar and walking distance to many restraunts. It seemed newly re-modelded with a little still in process but in the back parking area. Only down side we saw was they had no microwave in a suite and the furniture was stained. Had 3 adults, two chilren and a small dog with plenty of room for all.

Room Tip: Great ne wspa with really good deals from the pool area. also offer scuba lessons at the pool.
