“A weekend getaway for two! :)”

Toni and I decided to hit the area on Saturday the 28th of January for a much needed overnight getaway. After reading several of the favorable (And taking the time to read some not so favorable) reviews I decided to take a chance and book a night at The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne. What a WONDERFUL place to stay! We were welcomed in like family, check in was easy, and our room (The Attic Suite in the main house) was very, very nice! We had a lovely weekend in Orlando, largely thanks to this little B&B. This late 1800's house is very well maintained, the grounds kept nice, and the staff is friendly. The rooms are older and lovely, some of them with fireplaces. We were quite comfortable... Yes, we will stay here again! in fact, we are going to a show soon at the Amway Center and will just walk from our room, to dinner and on to the show. I give The Courtyard at Lake Lucern very high marks! John :o)

Room Tip: We liked the rooms in the main house the best. We stayed in the Attic suite and very much liked tha...

“Great Value in Downtown Orlando”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

On two different occasions, I have visited Orlando for a bowl game. On both occasions, I found very little hotel availability and exorbitant prices. Each time I found myself booking at The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne. Both experiences have been wonderful. If you have the money and can get a room, stay at the Grand Bohemian, yet if you are like me and find it hard to book a hotel in downtown for a fair price, Lake Lucern is your best option. For the Capital One bowl, I paid $130 a night and if I could find a room somewhere else, I was looking at $300+

Location: 3 block walk to Church street for bars and restaurants, yet feels like you are a million miles away from the craziness of that area.

Rooms: The old house where the front desk is has rooms with victorian decor much like a B&B. If you are looking for more of a typical hotel room, however, ask for the Wellborne. The rooms in what used to be a neighboring hotel, is more modern and feng shui. This is where I have always stayed and love the rooms. VERY Vlean and comfortable with leather couches, nice linnens, etc.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the Wellbourne

“the freeway ramp in front of my room made it difficult to sleep.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

Needing a quiet place to stay in downtown Orlando for a night, I though this place looked like the perfect getaway spot. The price was seemed comparable to others in the area, and The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne has perks like FREE parking, FREE breakfast and FREE Wifi so I thought this was the place for me. I needed a suite that was quiet so that I could get a nap in before my dinner plans. Downstairs in the main area of Dr. Phillips house there was a meeting/ wine tasting weekday event with a LARGE group of people in attendance. It was VERY loud; when I complained to the front desk they did nothing to assist, nor did they offer me any apologies. No room move or any compensation was offered. Later after my dinner I tried to finally get some rest but the noise from the freeway ramp right in front of my room made it difficult to sleep then too.
That being said, Dr. Phillips Yellow room was very pretty, the bed was comfortable and the flat screen tv on the was seemed nicely placed. (Fireplace does not work) The breakfast in the morning was better than expected. Egg and Spinach Casserole was delicious!!
Unfortunately, when I stay at a hotel it is usually for the purpose of sleeping. Due to the noisy parties on property and the street noise I would unfortunately look elsewhere in the downtown Orlando area before staying here again.

“pretty place to get married”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

I got married here in 2007 and it was so pretty for pictures. We stayed in a room there too that was nice but the bed was horrible. We had meiners catering, which is one of only a couple of caterers offered. while the food was very good, I was really mad that after the wedding I wanted to send my family home left overs and they would not let me. I paid for a buffet and you would think Id be entitled to send some home with a few people. NOPE, they wrapped it all up and took to their van. Im sure they took it home and ate what was left.

“What a find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Picked this after reading several reviews on Trip advisor, forget the odd couple of negetives, they must have missed the description on the web site, yes there are 4 unique and different properties at the hotel, you choose according to your budget, old saying is you get what you pay for, the bonus here is the cheapest rooms are still great, King bed, living room plus small kitchen diner up to some very smart period rooms. Staff are excellent and buffet breakfast is really good, eat what you want. The location is tranquil and a photogrophers dream. 8 meg wi-fi for free

Room Tip: check the rooms on the web site all look good
