Upon check in, we were notified that we had a free upgrade to the Fitness Suite. Now, let me preface my review with this: We would have loved it here even if we had the standard room we had originally booked.
This is a newer hotel, so right off the bat, you will see great architectural design as well as beautiful decor. The fitness suite was made up of an entry way, a large bathroom complete with a seat in the bath tub, a section with a mini fridge, microwave, sink, and coffee pot, a living room with a HUGE flat screen HD television, and a workout area with an elliptical. In the bedroom section, there were 2 queen beds with another chest of drawers (teh first was in the living room) and another HD Flatscreen, though a bit smaller than the one in the living room (still great though!). Also, there was plenty of closet space, a full size ironing board and an iron.
House keeping was very prompt and accommodating, and we got a phone call and a personal visit from the hotel manager making sure everything was okay with our stay.
In the lower level, tehre is a restaurant that has a regular menu, but they also offer a breakfast and lunch buffet reasonably priced at $8 per person. The selections were great and the waitstaff was wonderful! Finally, the business center, fitness room (for the hotel, not the one in our suite), pool and hot tub were all lovely. As icing on the cake, there was always a full service coffee station in the lobby that offered FREE COFFEE (Huge bonus for me!) at all times.
Great hotel, great service, and free coffee?! How can you beat that?
As a side note, we went on to stay at a 4 star hotel in St. Augustine, Florida (Casa Monica) and let me tell you - I preferred this Holiday Inn to Casa Monica by far.
Hopefully I'll get some free time to upload some photos!
