Upon check in, we were notified that we had a free upgrade to the Fitness Suite. Now, let me preface my review with this: We would have loved it here even if we had the standard room we had originally booked.

This is a newer hotel, so right off the bat, you will see great architectural design as well as beautiful decor. The fitness suite was made up of an entry way, a large bathroom complete with a seat in the bath tub, a section with a mini fridge, microwave, sink, and coffee pot, a living room with a HUGE flat screen HD television, and a workout area with an elliptical. In the bedroom section, there were 2 queen beds with another chest of drawers (teh first was in the living room) and another HD Flatscreen, though a bit smaller than the one in the living room (still great though!). Also, there was plenty of closet space, a full size ironing board and an iron.

House keeping was very prompt and accommodating, and we got a phone call and a personal visit from the hotel manager making sure everything was okay with our stay.

In the lower level, tehre is a restaurant that has a regular menu, but they also offer a breakfast and lunch buffet reasonably priced at $8 per person. The selections were great and the waitstaff was wonderful! Finally, the business center, fitness room (for the hotel, not the one in our suite), pool and hot tub were all lovely. As icing on the cake, there was always a full service coffee station in the lobby that offered FREE COFFEE (Huge bonus for me!) at all times.

Great hotel, great service, and free coffee?! How can you beat that?

As a side note, we went on to stay at a 4 star hotel in St. Augustine, Florida (Casa Monica) and let me tell you - I preferred this Holiday Inn to Casa Monica by far.

Hopefully I'll get some free time to upload some photos!

We spent 2 nights here, it's centrally located right off 295. The hotel is new and nicely decorated. Our room was automatically upgraded to a suite, which was large and would definitely be comfortable for an extended stay.

This hotel is brand new, so everything was clean and pristine. The hotel staff was very friendly and courteous. The bed was extremely comfortable, there's HDTV in the room, and free wired and wireless internet was provided. There is a restaurant downstairs that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There was no complimentary breakfast. The street in front of the hotel is currently being widened, so you have to drive through a bit of construction to get into the parking lot. Lots of restaurants relatively nearby.

Nicest hotel from our recent Florida trip. Newer hotel, and very well maintained. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable! Staff was very pleasant at check-in. Fitness center was small but not busy and everything worked (okay, maybe fresh batteries in the TV remote but that's a nit-pick). Pool was small but nice - we didn't use as it was just an overnight stay.

The area around the hotel was under construction but this didn't detract from our stay. Highly recommended if you're going to be in Jacksonville.

What a great hotel! I have stayed at the fairfield in across the street which is gross and smelly. I come to the area a lot for work and have watched this hotel being built. The decor was so pretty and the bed extremely comfortable. The breakfast was affordable and the huge flat screen was a plus. The bathroom was a shower only which was fine by me the tubs get so grungy anyway.

the staff was friendly. the whole hotel was clean. I pricelined it and got a great deal. I will stay here always when going to the area. HIGHLY recommend it.
