“DO NOT STAY HERE! This place is pitiful dirty nasty prison!”

I stayed here with my two children, and my mother and sister had another room. My mom is handicapped, and they put us on the 3rd floor, which was fine b/c they have an elevator. Well the elevator was out of service so my mom was stuck on the 3rd floor in her room for 4 days. She is not able to stand or walk, so she had her door propped open and a rude lady who works here came and told her she is not allowed to have her door open. So she closed it, then we took her fold up camping chair for her to sit outside her door so she could get some fresh air b/c all the rooms smell like smoke and you can't breathe in them, and they came and told us she can't sit outside the room, she had to go back inside. When my son spoke up and said "she's handicapped and can't stand" the guy told him to shut his mouth and stay out of the conversation. They tell you that you cant walk barefoot outside your room or they will kick you out of the hotel. My bed is as hard as the floor and when I asked to change rooms b/c of that and the smoke in my room from other guests smoking, they tell me that "our beds are hard and we can't change your room" I told them we can't breathe in our room and he said he does not care, he can't change our room. The firdge in my room leaked water constantly and they would never fix it. The water smelled like rotten eggs and you couldn't use it to make anything to drink or cook with it b/c it would change the taste of the food/drink. This hotel is horrible. The carpet is supposed to be green, but it's black with filth and if you walk around barefooted in the room then your feet get really black. We had left and came back and someone had been in our room looking thru our stuff. There are roaches and mice here. All the staff are nice until you have an issue then they turn into incosiderate pricks and they don't care about you or your issue. They advertise wi-fi, however there is none, unless you go buy an ethernet cord. If you do stay in this god forbidden place, do not beleive the room they show you, it is all set up for show. You can't do anything here without them getting mad at you and threatening you. They are very confortonational and do not care about the needs of their guests. This hotel is so bad, they should PAY US to stay here. You will regret staying here, trust me.....

InTown Suites, Guest Relations Manager at InTown Suites Jacksonville South, responded to this review
30 March 2011
We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced by not being able to contact the manager during office hours. Please understand that InTown Suites operates more like an apartment than a hotel. Many times during the day the manager has to be on property preparing rooms for sale or assisting other guests. Our limited office hours and staff are part of what allows us to offer fully furnished efficiencies for $179.99 weekly. However, because we have limited hours, online payment is also available so that guests are able to make payments at their own convenience. We have done research, and do not show a late fee charged for the date you referenced. However, we are willing to work with you to resolve this issue. You may contact us at 1-800-769-1670.

“UNSAT! 1970's appearance and is not to be kept to livable standards. In my 29 years of military travel, this place hits”

The manager did not seem to care when I commented on the simple maintenance issues. For $50 I could bring this place up from a 2 to a 6 out of 10. Plug in wall could not hold the plug of alarm clock. I used tape to hold it in. You can see water stains at front door where you can see the sun rise through gap. Refrigerator sound s like an engine running and does not shut down. ALos missing door shelves. Bathroom vent inoperable. Carpet nasty and whole place smells like cigarette.. Hard to believ in this day and age, this place does not have non smoking rooms. The 19" TV in about ten years old. No audio jacks to hook up DVD.. I could keep going, but you getthe point. No one cares and does not believe in preventative maint.

“Just What I Needed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2010

I was in Orange Park for the closing on a house sale and was unable to stay in the house for the final week while the estate sale and cleanup were going on. InTown Suites was within 2 miles and looked OK from the street. It had a sign showing rates from $189.99 per week, which beat even the Red Roof Inn. So despite the bad reviews I asked to see a typical room and decided to stay there. You do pay in advance. If you pay cash, make sure you understand how the refund of your deposit is handled. All in all I was very satisfied with the value. The room is basic, but bigger than most hotel rooms. There was a stain on the carpet and a cigarette burn on the coverlet and another on the couch. There are no non-smoking rooms. The pillows were misshapen and lumpy. There was no bedside lamp. BUT there was a full size refrigerator with two ice trays, a stovetop, a microwave, a working television, good shower, fine air conditioner, free parking and WiFi advertised (though I didn't use it). The linens on the bed consisted of a thin sheet and a coverlet but were clean, as were the floors and bathrooms. The towels are thin, but they do an adequate job and dry quickly. The front desk staff was helpful. The other guests were a varied lot, but not unpleasant. I was bothered by noise from the nearby laundry only once, for about a half hour. Bring your own pillow, or buy one at Walmart for $10. I took a bedside lamp from the estate sale and it made a huge difference in the ambiance of the room. Go to a yard sale or Goodwill and get yourself one, plus a glass, a cereal bowl and whatever utensils and pots and pans you need. There is a Publix about 1/4 mile north where you can get juice, milk, cheese and microwaveable meals, and a good Greek restaurant even closer. I ate all my breakfasts and several suppers in my room, a considerable savings over going out. You too can save a bundle even if you have to pay 4 bucks to use the coin laundry. Gee, what do people expect for under $30 per night?
