Stayed two nights for a visit to Silver Springs nine miles down the road. Chose it from one of the travel coupon books you pick up at the rest areas. It was cheap and close to Silver Springs. With the coupon our two night stay was $93.00. We had our two young children with us.
The grounds were probably the nicest feature of this motel. They were very lush and reasonably well maintained. The pool was actually a pleasant surprise. It is a very large pool for a motel. The pool was clean and filtered; the ladder was broken but there were steps on the shallow end with a handrail. Large patio surrounding the pool, clean enough with several tables and chairs.
The rooms (there were three groups in our party) all showed signs of age. Walls were dingy, bathrooms needed updating (they did have hair dryer and one-cup coffee maker), carpet aged and needs replacing. Nothing was “dirty”, just old and worn. It appeared some of the rooms in the motel were being renovated or repaired. Some cracks in the exterior walls.
TV had generous amount of cable/satellite channels. The cable connection on the back of our TV needed “jiggling” every now and then to clear up the picture.
Rooms even had a balcony. Sliding glass door was not that smooth and the AC condensation pooled on the balcony. With the noise of AC you would not want to sit out there anyway.
The breakfast area was roomy and well laid out with the standard breakfast fare: coffee, tea, apple/orange juice, milk (whole and 2%), two cereals, instant oatmeal, apples, bananas, bagels, Danish, muffins, doughnuts, and even some small sausage biscuits to heat in microwave.
Motel was within a half-mile of interstate I-75. I wouldn’t call the area around the motel “nice” but I never feared for my safety.
Overall it was what I expected for a room under $50.00 these days.
