“Roaches”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2006

Stayed in a second floor room. The railing and staircase which are outside are rusted and loose! The lobby smells like grandma's attic as do the hallways. The parking lot is full of deep potholes. The room did not smell, which was good! The floor was covered in white hair - from a dog? or other animal. The blanket was also covered in the same hair.

The carpet had been recently replaced and looked new. The coffee maker made only one very small cup of coffee, not a normal pot of 4 cups as you would expect. The bed had roaches in it. We complained and were moved to a better room, seemed to have been renovated.
Would not recommend this hotel at all.

“About What I Expected”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2006

Stayed two nights for a visit to Silver Springs nine miles down the road. Chose it from one of the travel coupon books you pick up at the rest areas. It was cheap and close to Silver Springs. With the coupon our two night stay was $93.00. We had our two young children with us.

The grounds were probably the nicest feature of this motel. They were very lush and reasonably well maintained. The pool was actually a pleasant surprise. It is a very large pool for a motel. The pool was clean and filtered; the ladder was broken but there were steps on the shallow end with a handrail. Large patio surrounding the pool, clean enough with several tables and chairs.

The rooms (there were three groups in our party) all showed signs of age. Walls were dingy, bathrooms needed updating (they did have hair dryer and one-cup coffee maker), carpet aged and needs replacing. Nothing was “dirty”, just old and worn. It appeared some of the rooms in the motel were being renovated or repaired. Some cracks in the exterior walls.

TV had generous amount of cable/satellite channels. The cable connection on the back of our TV needed “jiggling” every now and then to clear up the picture.

Rooms even had a balcony. Sliding glass door was not that smooth and the AC condensation pooled on the balcony. With the noise of AC you would not want to sit out there anyway.

The breakfast area was roomy and well laid out with the standard breakfast fare: coffee, tea, apple/orange juice, milk (whole and 2%), two cereals, instant oatmeal, apples, bananas, bagels, Danish, muffins, doughnuts, and even some small sausage biscuits to heat in microwave.

Motel was within a half-mile of interstate I-75. I wouldn’t call the area around the motel “nice” but I never feared for my safety.

Overall it was what I expected for a room under $50.00 these days.

“Gross”

Scary. I booked this one on-line and prepaid. I should have paid extra and stayed in a better hotel. The first room we were given looked as though it had been damaged by a ball bat. The HVAC unit was falling off the wall and the water in the tub was running when we entered the room and would not turn off. The sliding door would not lock and the frame was bent so the outdoors had easy access to the indoors (a pile of leaves in the room near the door and bugs on the wall). Our non-smoking room smelled like an ashtray. Terrible beds. When we called the front desk, they promptly got us another room. It was marginally better. It was late and we were there only one night, so we suffered through it. I didn't want to touch anything. Icky.

“Bad and getting worse.”

Well here I am now in Ocala Florida,Wish I were back at the beach but my mother in law was due a visit.
We stayed here for 2 weeks last summer and the place was run down ,but not this bad. They allow pets and anyone and everyone who has $49.00 cash here.
The place was filled with illegal immagrants who stood on the corner at 5 am looking for work.
When we checked in the lady said the pool was up and running all year long,Well it may be running,But it looked like it hasn't been cleaned since we were here in Summer (JUNE to be exact)Now they let pets in and we had to switch rooms 2 time before we found one which didn't reek of urine(human or Pet)
When I complained to Management they said ooh sorry and that was it.Checked out after only 2 nights.I'll be posting about our next florida tour within 2 days.

“Never again!!!”

Stayed here one night on our way to Virginia. A very run down property. Old abandoned vehicles parked in the back parking lot. The bathroom was old, dirty and disgusting. The water in the bathtub would not shut off all the way and ran continuously all night. The carpet outside the bathroom was damp and smelly. I would definitely not stay here again.
