Overall it is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean and well kept, and the building is totally secured. The staff are very nice and willing to help with all your needs.

The noise from the road is very loud and it is a flimsy building with little insulation. Many of the residents live here permanently. Value Place Ocala seems like a cross between section 8 housing and some kind of quasi institution/shelter/halfway house for those preparing to rejoin society but are still quite adverserial with hostile attitudes and no personal boundaries. They give the clear impression that they want their own kind there and not temporary business travelers or snowbirds and would prefer you to leave. All night door slamming, banging, shouting and rudeness seems to be common place. Staff are friendly but claim to be unable to manage the personalties or behavior of the permanents. Don't expect any sleep or peace. Internet is too slow to use properly. Very unfortunate situation for the unsuspecting business or vacation travelers expecting a pleasant stay.

No insulation between rooms. Even though they tell you security will quite noise after 10 PM, you can;t find security to get it done. People above us moved in furniture for a 2 month stay between midnight and 4 am. Management says it is ok. Other 6 nights, people in higher floor rooms would quite down about 2 am and start up again at 0600. Security no help. Kids were running the halls making lots of noise most of the night.

Beds were like a rock. One thin pad on a sheet of plywood base. Office says they like hard beds. We didn't. They told us to go to Kmart and buy a foam pad. They advertise
$175 a wk on big flashing billboard out front but didn't say anything to us about it. We paid $272 for a week. We were supposed to a $50 security refund but haven't seen it yet.
Office is only open 9 hours a day out of 24. There is a phone to call if you need help but it is hit and miss if anyone answers.
NO housekeeping or room service. If you stay a long time, they'll change your sheets every two weeks. They didn't tell us this when we called before reserving. NO pool.

I spent a week here and I can't regret the large amount of money that I saved. IF you are a non smoker, make sure that you get on a non smoking floor. The odor of smoke can get horrible especially in the hallways. The pillows were pathetic but a quick trip to Walmart (about a mile away) solved that along with some air freshner. Would I stay here again? Definitely if I had something long term that I wanted to do in Ocala.
