Just got back from the Sandalwood Beach Resort. I spent one week there. We booked into Unit 355. It was very clean. I was informed at the desk that the owners of this unit will be renovating the kitchen in about a month (new countertop, kitchen cabinets, and stove). They will also be putting in new window blinds.

I continue to read a few "bad" reviews about the Sandalwood. I cannot stress enough that each unit is individually owned. It is up to the owners to spend the extra money to renovate the unit. I like Unit 355, so I pre-book this unit ahead of time and put a deposit on it.

I suggest to future travellers that upon arrival, please take a look at the unit you are offered. If you do not like it, ask to be changed. During peak travel time, however, you may not have a choice as other units may already be occupied. The weekly rates are excellent for a place on the beach.

The lobby was spotless and friendly as usual. Staff was helpful. Entrance is supervised during the day, and entrance is with card access only after hours. The pool and area was clean and well maintained.

The location is fabulous! Right on the beach and watching some beautiful sunsets every night, while listening to the music coming from the lounge at the Double-tree hotel next door (where prices are much higher and decor outdated). And here, I sit, enjoying the same music and white sand. What more can you ask for?

a friend of my brother told us about this place. we had a very good time, the hotel is very clean and well kept , the staff was wonderful. would recommend it .

All I can say is STAY AWAY! The rooms were affordable but that was the only plus to this place. Our one-bedroom unit was decorated okay, but I consider that a testament to the private owners of this establishment. No towels, dated amenities and the world's scariest elevator
The woman who worked the front desk, Joanne, was horrendous. My parents who were staying two beaches down, stopped by to visit my two year old. When my husband asked about parking and was informed of the charge, my parents decided to park roadside because they were only staying for an hour. When my husband walked back through the lobby, Joanne, told him he needed to come sign his bill and that she was charging $20 for the two visitors. We explained they just stopped by and weren't staying long and she very rudely told him it didn't matter.
I also asked why these type of practices weren't disclosed at check-in she said she didn't have to because as she said, "they never have." Meanwhile, you could never enjoy the pool was filled with other visitors all day long who hadn't paid the fee, yet felt comfortable enough drinking and blaring their music

This is a great hotel. The picture here is old, and does not do it justice. Pavers have been redone around the pool, so not slippery at all, and much safer. Staff is friendly. Rooms have been recently updated. Great place for a family getaway. Very cozy.
