We stayed in unit #402 in Ram Sea (can't remember if it was I or II; it was the building on the right if you are looking at the condo buildings from the street). The view from the unit was excellent, right on the beach towards the sea. The beach was great, good for kids just steps away from the condo. I would say that the beach isn't as nice as Siesta Keys but still good for shelling and swimming. My kids swam in the pool but it seemed crowded most of the time. Didn't make use of the hot tub, can't comment.
Now the unit. It is an old and tired unit badly in need of a facelift. The unit has one bedroom with 2 double beds. There were 4 of us and it worked out for us even if all of us were sleeping in the one bedroom.
There is water damage in the washroom along the baseboard, the cabinets - like there was constant flooding on the floors or something and it was never fixed. The bathtub is unpleasant, black mold along the grout, took us a while to work out the shower.
The kitchen lacked several useful utensils and it was a collection of mismatched items from the 1970's and onwards.
The furniture and decor was old and it conveys the message the owners aren't interested in updating or replacing anything. We had friends staying in another unit just doors away and that unit had nicer appliances, kitchenware, furniture, etc. Lots of tacky knick-knacks around the unit. I say less is more.
Having said all that, was the unit clean? Yes. Was it comfortable for us? Yes. Was it luxurious? No. Was it appealing? Not really. Would I recommend it for another family? No, check out the other units before you settle on this one. For the same amount of money I would rent another unit that's a little better equipped and better maintained. We rented through JC Resorts.
We had an issue with the patio door and someone from maintenance came up pretty quickly to fix it. Front desk downstairs were pleasant enough but didn't really seem to know the area. When we asked for directions to Pier 60, they were trying to send us to St. Pete's Beach when in fact we were trying to get to Clearwater.
There's no covered parking so cars get hot. Covered parking is for owners only.
We went grocery shopping at the nearest Publix. The 2 nearest Walmarts don't have fresh food. We checked out Pier 60 at Clearwater during the day. Not much going on then. I heard it gets better at night. Also visited MOSI, interesting enough but a lot of the exhibitions and activities were broken or missing parts. Plan to spend almost the whole day there. Ate at Sweet Sage Cafe; it was tasty, small portions but $$. Four of us had breakfast and it came out to about $50. Won't be going back.
Overall, North Redington Beach is a nice place for a beach vacation but unit #402 isn't the way to go.

Update on 402... This beachfront vacation rental was completely updated in December of 2011. All new! The owner has done a fabulous job. New pictures will be posted in early June. Thanks for taking the time to add your review. It often helps to have vacation rental owners see things from a guest's perspective.
