“Horrible Hotel!!! BEWARE extra charges!”

This was the worst hotel/motel that I have ever stayed at! The room that I stayed in didn't have an air conditioning unit that I was able to control. Um hello...this hotel is located in South Florida! It was really hot and muggy in the room. I had to go to the front desk and ask them about the air and they said because it was cold the last past few previous days they turned it off. That day the tempertature was a high of 78 degrees, which made it very hot and muggy in the room.

The parking situation is also horrible. They double park cars in one spot and you have to leave your keys at the front desk overnight in case you are parked behind a car that is parked up against the wall. They also charge you $8 per day to park your car in their crappy parking lot!

I was told there would be a continental breakfast in the morning. When I went to breakfast, all I found was a couple of boxes of cereal, some orange juice and milk, and some white bread. You couldn't even make your own toast because they had a worker standing there asking how many pieces of bread you wanted toasted. They also had a tip jar out so you could tip them for toasting your toast! No thank you!

When I went to check out, I got charged a $6 resort fee. When I asked what the fee included, the lady that was checking me out couldn't even give me a list. She thinks it was for the pool chairs and the beach chairs and towels. She also thought it was for the continental breakfast. I thought that was supposed to be free! I never used the beach or pool chairs, so why should I be charged or something I didn't use! Beware of these extra charges when you check out!!!

The room was old and very worn down! I would not recommend this hotel and will never stay there again! The only good thing about the hotel was its location!

“Not the Hilton or Hyatt”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

Stayed here for two nights and found the room large (comfortable bed), free internet - with FULL kitchen. Not new, but well kept up,bathroom recently redone.
The staff was very helpful and friendly and the pool and beach were kept very nice.
While it is not a Hilton or Hyatt, it may well be the very best value in Miami/Sunny Isles. Close to resturants and Walgreens. There is a restaurant in the complex but I don't recommend it. We had free breakfast, but as you have a kitchen I suggest you buy your own. Parking available for your car.

Room Tip: Gound floor close to the beach

“Just okay”

Stayed here for 2 nights to go to the Barcelona soccer game. It was right on the beach which was what we wanted and you could walk to several restaurants, a Starbucks, a Walgreen's, etc. so as for that the location is good. If you want to go out in South Beach I wouldn't stay here. It was a $20-$30 cab ride and the hotel says they have a shuttle but it literally only runs twice a day - and not anywhere close to late.
You can tell that they have definitely tried to upgrade and improve things but didn't go all the way with them. For example fixtures in the bathroom were replaced but you could see the holes in the wall from the old ones.
The ice machine is STILL broken but there is a Walgreen's right across the street. The central a/c wasn't too bad. Took the advice of someone else on here and asked for a fan (our room was on the corner and seemed to get a lot of sun) and they were happy to accommodate. The front desk was also helpful in getting us a cab.
On the plus side we found our room to be very clean with enough room for three girls. The fridge and kitchen area was small but acceptable.
Didn't eat at the hotel but did have one drink at the pool bar - FYI, they take cash only but there is an ATM in the lobby.
And, I was VERY surprised that no one on here mentioned this little fact...there is no elevator! Yes, it is only two floors but we had a heavy cooler full of drinks...luckily a nice guy helped us lug it up the stairs. The parking issue wasn't mentioned either...it's $8/day to park and you double park in EVERY space. If you are on the outside spot you have to leave your keys at the front desk so they can move your car when the person in front of you needs to leave. Pretty inconvenient.
Overall it was decent but don't really know if I'd stay there again...I like going out in South Beach so I will be staying closer to that next time. Especially after paying for inconvenient parking ($8/day) and a 'resort' fee ($8/day and internet didn't work in our room at the opposite end of the lobby) and the $20 one way to SoBe cab ride. I could have paid the same and stayed at a better hotel.

“Couldn't sleep”

We took a three week road trip around Florida and stayed in six hotels, three excellent ones, two good ones and one absolutely awful one - this one! Fortunately we arrived late and left early so the experience was mercifully short. Location is great but that's about it. Room was shabby and overall state was pretty dilapidated - could hear every cough and splutter of the folks in the next room...euugh.

Room Tip: there are no good rooms

“Never again”

This two story vestige of Sunny Isles golden days of the 1950's sits forlornly between two of the ultra-modern high rises that have replaced most of the others of its ilk. Multiple layers of paint and a layer of cement over what were once attractive terrazzo walkways appear to be its only attempt at modernization. Our oceanfront room presented what would have been an excellent view had our window been clean enough to see through. Air conditioning cannot be adjusted and being at the end of the ac run our room was cold enough to hang meat in. Hot water in the shower was almost non existent. The kitchen that was part of our room was in poor condition with a refrigerator that was so loud that we had to turn it off in order to sleep. Bedding was threadbare and worn but appeared to be clean. Upon taking our ice bucket to the lobby to be filled we were advised that the only ice maker had out of order for months. (why leave ice buckets in the rooms?)
We checked out after the first night of a three night reservation.

Room Tip: The best room here is somewhere else
