“Hidden Gem on Casey Key”

My fiance and some family and I stayed the weekend (mini-vacay) at the beach Retreat and we had such a great time!! The rooms were so cute...very clean, efficient, and updated (marble kitchen counter tops, etc). The location is perfect and right on the beach. The beach is beautiful...picture perfect and we loved the sunsets. We grilled out on the property (right outside of our room) and the pool was conveniently located just a few steps away. The staff at the beach retreat was great as well...very friendly and accomodating. We had a wonderful time and plan to bring the rest of the family along next time!

“A peaceful, relaxing retreat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2010

I have been a West Central Florida resident since 1967 in Pinellas County. I was looking for the 'old' Florida with the clear blue Gulf waters, a clean, quality place to spend a long weekend with my adult children and our extended family. A Beach Retreat was recommended to us by a coworker who has visited with his family yearly for 28 years. The management team is professional and friendly. The property is pristine. My adult children commented that these condos were 5 star. They were amazed at the cleanliness, updated rooms and fully equipped kitchens. The new gas grills were used nightly and we enjoyed having our coffee on the terrace each morning viewing the Gulf of Mexico. Boat rentals are nearby. We plan on returning next year. A Beach Retreat is a peaceful, relaxing retreat from the busyness of life. There is no other place like it! If there was a rating above 5 star, this location would have my vote.

“A MOST ENJOYABLE "RETREAT!"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 March 2010

The six of us, all adults, just returned from a wonderful week at A Beach Retreat. We stayed in the largest unit (3 bedrooms). We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in the door and saw the large open floor plan. And the beds...they "called" to us!!! So comfortable. With the exception of the pull-out in the living room. The mattress was a "blow-up" but it had a leak. I expect that will be fixed soon. And bring your own system for music, no radios. Though the weather was not hot....we still enjoyed our time in Nokomis...shelling on the beautiful beach, swimming poolside, taking in a play (Annie) in Venice, the Red Sox in Fort Myers (about 1.2 hour drive), shopping at Punta Gorda, and just having a relaxed week in our own little world on the deck. But, shhhhh......it's a secret!

Stayed at this hotel directly on the gulf of Mexico in Casey key,Fl. The hotel was very well maintained and clean. The manager and staff were very friendly and helpful with any of our needs. Its a place to get away with family and friends without any of the hustle and bustle of the other tourist spots in Florida. So if your looking for a queit spot with beautiful sunsets, beaches that aren't crowded, and a friendly and helpful staff this is the spot for your next vacation.

“Great location, Nice beach,”

My husband and I stayed at A Beach Retreat last week and it was perfect! If you are looking for a quiet place on the beach, look no further! We had a orginally reserved a studio with a small kitchen and at the last minute upgraded to a 1 bedroom with full kitchen. If you plan to do any cooking, I recommend the bigger unit. The staff there was very friendly and helpful and even had a get together in the courtyard one night with drinks/snacks. We were close to shopping and dining but a little off the beaten path so it was very relaxing. They have a heated pool, beach chairs and there is a nice courtyard area and patio table/chairs outside each room and gas grills for guests use. We also had wi-fi and the signal was great.
The Casey Key/Nokomis Beach area has small hotels so it isn't as "touristy" as some of the other beaches in the area but it is a quiet, friendly area that I would hestitate to return to. Make sure you check out the Drum Cirlce on Wednesday and Saturday nights on the beach at sunset. If you are a shark tooth collector, we found more at Nokomis Beach than at Venice Beach, which is supposed to be the "Sharktooth Capital". Don't forget to eat at the Casey Key Fish House on Blackburn Point Road, we did on our last night of vacation and wished we could have gone back.
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to go back sometime soon!
