We were on the "left coast" of Florida for a mini family reunion. Since I'd always wanted to go the The Ritz-Carlton Naples, we decided to enjoy their brunch in one of their several restaurants, Terraza.
From the moment you turn into their driveway, it speaks a quiet elegance. The drive is shaded by an allee of native trees that nearly meet in a canopy above your head. The wide, brick entryway is flanked in luxury vehicles, seeming to greet you in a courtly bow. You pull into the port-cochere and are greeted by a friendly valet who seems genuinely glad to see you.
As we entered the lobby, a life-sized gingerbread house off to our right was mesmerizing. The ingredients list is posted, including 60,000 pieces of candy for this labor of love. It was Teddy Bear brunch for the little ones, complete with Santa and Mrs. Claus for story time, and huge teddy bears scattered in the reading area ready for children's hugs.
We wandered through the halls flanked with so many decorated trees and shop windows. The hotel even SMELLED good.
As we wandered past the lobby shops you felt you were in a city unto itself. We made our way down to the pool level. Details, details: reserved lounge chairs had little flags that were popped up by the staff to reserve them, and a towel that fit over the top of the chaise and covered the entire thing is draped onto it for you.
Terraza is on the pool level, and has a breezy outdoor feeling with both outdoor and indoor dining. We enjoyed the buffet-style brunch which had the best blintzes I've ever had. Our server Kelly was very warm and welcoming, and she told us how she was so glad to be back "home" at The Ritz-Carlton. Very telling. The brunch has a huge variety of food, from their EXCELLENT bloody marys (I want the recipe for that mix!) to hand-crafted lox.
There's a pool bar that serves food as well, and we enjoyed drinks afterwards at the Gumbo Limbo beach bar constructed above the mangroves in order to protect them. One of our party has difficulty walking distances, so a golf cart surmounted that challenge in getting to Gumbo Limbo.
We were sad to leave, but enjoyed it immensely. One of the tenets of the Ritz is to enliven the senses. Well, I can understand why Kelly said she was glad to be home-it's remarkable.

Room tip: Rooms on the west side have an excellent view of the best sunsets around. Ask about "the green flash", a rarely-seen phenomenon at sunset.

This is a very excellent property if one can afford a room / suite in high season;

and that may be a an extremely tall order for most tourists.

This is an EXCEPTIONAL property if one is a golf aficionado.

The ambiance, the service, spa, pool, restaurant, bar, etc. are all 5 star.

Lobby Wi-Fi is free, but not in-room WiFi.

This resort was top notch in every way. From the spectacular service that began at check in, to the facilities, to the beautiful beach, to the great food and beverage,it was spectacular in every way. Even my folio was printed on super high quality paper. This resort delivers on every commitment the company's marketing makes. It is beautiful, the staff is awesome and it is unadulterated luxury. Run, don't walk, to this place. I cannot wait to go back.

Excellent hotel in a great location 15 miles or so to historic Naples with a great selection of restaurants and bars. Nice set of pools and beautiful beach. Rooms were reasonably priced but be prepared for expensive drinks and food at the hotel - but then again you are at The Ritz go for it.

The Ritz Carlton in Naples Florida was really nice. Right on the beach, food was excellent at its restaurants, service could not have been better. They really go out of their way to help you. The rooms are bright and clean and good size. I've stay at a lot of 5 star hotels and this one ranks right up there. Would definitely stay here again.
