The best part of this hotel is its location, other than that, I was not impressed. With the name like "Waldorf Astoria", I expected attention to detail and a very upscale resort. The hotel was clean, the beach was beautiful (nice little walk or convenient tram), and the pools were nice, it just lacked that special feeling. Some of the staff was very warm and welcoming while others were rude and unhelpful. At the beach, the attendants seemed "put out" by having to hand you towels and getting you chairs. The rooms were nice, though we arrived early and there were no rooms available. We were offered a bungalow "upgrade" which was ready, but we chose to wait for a room with a view. We were told it would be worth the wait until 4 o'clock because were assigned a magnificent room with a remarkable view. Sounded worth the wait to us, so we hung out on the beach until 4. When we got to our room, it was a view of the roof below and we were as far from the beach as you could get. Apparently, they had given "our" room to someone else and reassigned us. There were no robes, shower caps, q-tips, cotton balls or anything of this nature in the room. Are you sure this is a Waldorf Astoria? Anyway, needless to say, while we enjoyed the warmth and beauty of Naples, we found the hotel to be so so. I won't even talk about the nurovirus that was going around the hotel and how everyone was sick and that until you reported your illness, the hotel never mentioned it to guests checking in so that precautions could be taken. If the hotel had been a cruise ship, they would have shut it down and done a complete cleaning of the facility. This hotel has lots of room for improvement!
