“Worst Marriott Ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

It is NOT downtown! Everything is old and the place was filthy. The old and not downtown was bad enough, but there is no excuse for food and beverages splattered everywhere, dirty finger prints on switches, hair in the tub, and other stuff I wasn't sure of. Breakfast was a joke. Some stale beagles, yougart, and not much else.

As a Marriott Platinum member who travels for business weekly, this was a shock.

I would never stay there again, even if Marriott offered a free night.

Room Tip: My only tip is do not stay there.

“Substandard for Marriott”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Fairfield for one night in January while visiting Naples. My first surprise was that there was no refrigerator in the room. I thought that was unusual because the Fairfield is a 4 star. I realize now that I should have looked on the website. The biggest issue was the speed of the internet. When we inquired about it, we were told that it was a problem with Comcast. However, there were no Comcast trucks there during our stay. There were also some minor issues, which by themselves wouldn't have been a problem. The coffee pot was empty in the AM, and I had to go to the front desk to inform them. Also, there was a buzz in the TV sound, the fan in the bathroom didn't work, and we did not have shampoo in the bathroom. There were some minor maintenance issues in the room, but on the positive side it was clean. The property is not close to the downtown area, and therefore the name is a little deceiving. This property is just not up to Marriot standards as another reviewer has mentioned.

“Not up to Marriott standards”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Okay in a pinch but not a place I will go back to. Very dated. No usable wi-fi singla in the room. Breakfast items were not being replenished so very little to choose from

“Fine one night stay, would return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

Hotel was nice, the lobby is beautiful and the room we were given, at the corner of the building with a balcony overviewing the pool was amazingly spacious for a standard room, quiet and comfortable, but could be different from other rooms, since it is the only one on the floor with a balcony. Stayed for one night on Christmas and it was not busy, at night and during the day it was very quiet. Pool is nice but has no shadow, jacuzzi was lukewarm when we entered. Breakfast offered is basic, with nothing essential missing. The hotel is close to downtown, but if you do not like walking half a mile or more one-way to reach it, it may not be as convenient for that. Overall we were satisfied and would return for another visit.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are very spacious and have a balcony.

“Perfectly Fine Hotel & Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

I'm puzzled by some of the very negative reviews as this is a perfectly good Fairfield Inn, and as far as I am concerned does not damage the Marriott brand in any way (I am a platinum card holder). We first discovered this a couple of years back just after it opened (or was maybe renovated) and have been back off and on since.

The location is slightly outside Naples and if you want to walk to Fifth Avenue, it would you take you a brisk 15 minutes (past luxury apartments, so I don't know where the "worst part of town" comments come from). On my most recent visit, we had a suite with king and sofa bed which was on a corner and was massive. Of course, if you want upscale luxury, you do not choose Fairfield Inn, but as a basic hotel, this ticks all the boxes.

On check-in, staff were friendly and efficient. The room was very clean, very quiet, and generally comfortable. Parking is free and plentiful, and although there is slightly tatty, empty restaurant adjacent to the hotel, that is hardly their fault.

The only slight drawback is the breakfast area which is quite small, and does not really have a customer flow, so gets congested, however, as it was Christmas week, I will forgive that. Usual Fairfield Inn standard of food...not the best in the world, but hey, its free!

Overall, no problems at all here, and my grading reflects what i would expect from Fairfield Inn.
