“Came for Antique hunting but found another kind of treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I have been raving to people since our Mt. Dora visit and telling them about this amazing B&B we stayed at. We came looking for antiques but found another treasure… The house is very modest and quaint -- decorated with late 18th century antiques which add character but the real gem was Ana, the Inn-keeper and Jim's breakfasts - OMG!!! I didn’t see that one coming! Having worked in the restaurant business in New York when I was younger, I could tell that Jim was trained and Ana took extra care with her service and attention to details. Most importantly I could tell that Ana and Jim care deeply about their business and about the people you host at the Mount Dora Historic Inn. It was such a pleasure to chat with Ana and the other guests that we arrived at the antique extravaganza an hour later than we anticipated each morning, simple because Ana’s hosting and the guests conversations were so enjoyable. I can’t wait to schedule our trip for next year! Thank you Ana and Jim!

“What a delightful weekend with Anna and Jim.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We didn't expect such a warm, enjoyable hospitality by Anna the inn-keeper and her husband Jim the chef.
We had a marvelous weekend. and we are definitely going there again.

“Lovely little B&B in the heart of Mt Dora.”

I finally got a chance to visit MT Dora after my husband has been raving about the place for years and after having chatted with the innkeepers on twitter for quite awhile.

I'll start with the town, it's cute, it's really cute, felt safe walking to and from restaurants at night, drivers were considerate. Actually in the whole of Florida we only got tailgated once as apposed to home LOL. Nice to see kids playing outside and riding their bikes around, a real small town freshness that I haven't come across in a while.

The Mt Dora Inn.....adorable. We had a sweet little room downstairs with a clawfoot bathtub (heaven!) lovely munchies (homemade sweet breads) and cold waterbottle in the dining room outside before we went to bed. There was a flatscreen TV and a selection of DVDs, we watched an oldie but goodie and then zonked on the comfy bed. You have to say one thing about Mt Dora, it IS quiet at night! (which is lovely)

Breakfast was a treat with way too much food (for me anyway, hubbie scarfed up more then I could eat) a chilled fruit soup which was yummy, sweet potato pancakes and a souffle with a little bit of a zip were wonderful as well, I was thinking some rosemary flavored maple syrup would have gone nice with the pancakes and I wish I had more more as I could have kept eating the souffle,

We couldn't stay for breakfast the next morning as had an early flight but Ana was nice enough to set us out in our room a nice platter of fresh fruit and muffins and a small cup coffeemaker for us. I wish we had gotten the opportunity to meet Jim, but I know we will be back again!!!

“Such a Great Place!”

This was me and my new bride's first stop on an adventure honeymoon, which was recommended to me by one of my customers. "You should go to Mount Dora", she said. "And stay at the Mount Dora Historic Inn. You won't be sorry!"

Boy, was she right!

The Inn was warm and clean, and Anna was just purely delightful! We were so taken care of, it seemed just like home. The breakfasts were out of this world! Anna, being the perfect hostess, directed us via map the places to go there. We recommend the boat ride on Lake Dora. Can't say enough about this place. Thanks Anna!

What a great time in Mount Dora. Ana (the owner) was like family by the time we left. The bed was comfortable...the breakfast was OUTSTANDING! We will definitely be back :)
