“wonderful respite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

For a perfect getaway from our too-busy lives, this lovely old home is it. Hosts are gracious and welcoming, home is immaculate and (HOORAY) offfers NO TV--what a concept. Bed comfy, breakfast deluxe, Salukis marvelous!!! Located within an easy walk to lovely, historic downtown. Even if the Adora were not in charming Mt. Dora, it would be a wonderful place to stay. We loved our two night stay.

“Perfect.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

My husband and I got the candlelight dinner package with the Vanilla room for his birthday and it was absolutely perfect; from the food to the room to the service. John and Arthur really know how to make you feel like royalty. We plan on staying here at least every other month, just to get out of town and away from our hectic daily lives!

It was really fun having you all. This was a first and we hope we can host allot more retreats. Our Inn & town makes it really convenient for a small group like yourselves. Hope to see you for a Summer retreat, then you can enjoy all our wonderful fresh water springs just minutes from the Inn. Thanks again for choosing us!

“What a way to start the New Year!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Arthur and John's Adora Inn is aptly named because it is the way they make you feel as their guest! Our room, Olive, is comfortable, quite clean and decorated for encouraging a peaceful, rejuvenating nights sleep. John's "Cinderella" skills make all spaces at the inn ship shape! Love that! We also loved their NO TV policy!

The Inn is within walking distance of the quaint downtown Mt. Dora shopping and restaurant district. With Arthur's abundant recommendations, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in town.

After the delicious German pancake with orange sauce, fresh fruit and Greek yogurt cup, chicken sausage and baked apples for breakfast, we can hardly wait for our return visit when we will take advantage of Arthur's culinary skills for a dinner!

Thanks, Arthur and John, for making our stay at your B&B one of the best B&B stays we've ever experienced!

“New friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

My son and I stayed at The Adora Inn and feel as though we left not just refreshed, but with great memories and four new friends! John and Arthur are such interesting people; it was a pleasure to exchange stories before dinner and at the breakfast table. They are friendly, articulate, house proud and eager to make each guest feel valued and welcome. Obviously you already know that they are fantastic chefs too! We plan to stay in touch and even exchanged addresses with a couple we shared the sumptuous breakfast with!

As other writers have noted, they are happy to provide recommendations for local places to eat, drink, and play. I particularly like that they try to help other, (good), businesses by sending their customers along. So we ended up having in-room massages, sampling wine flights at Merrill's, tea at The Windsor Rose, and kayaked, none of which would have happened without John and Arthur. It was perfect. 10/10
