“Great Bed N Breakfast! Makes you feel welcomed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We arrived December 9 - 11th 2011. We were greeted by Inez the Inn Keeper with a nice welcome and overview of the facility. Homemade banana nut bread and sweet tea was there waiting on arrival. We settled in and the walked down to the light house and Lake Dora. Nice short walk from the BnB. Went into town for dinner and walked around. The shops in Downtown close quite early so plan your visits during daytime. Our room was so spacious and nicely decorated. We had the Charlotte room and had a small outdoor balcony overlooking the grounds. The house had nice antiques and was very well kept. Upstairs balcony too relax and rest or play games. Ice maker and small mini refrigerator. The downstairs area had refreshments for the afternoon and evening kept on ice and popcorn, microwave for use. We traveled with another couple. It was my second stay and my husband and our friends first. They loved it! The breakfast that was served both mornings was SUPERB, A very light and savory veggie egg and cheese breakfast casserole with bacon, biscuits that were so fresh and delicate with preserves and a great Fruit Salad, Coffee and juices. The second morning was sausage, blueberry cream cheese french bread bake. Both meals were GREAT! The building was built in the late 1800's and well kept. We would stay here again! Thanks Inez!

“Nice B&B - Great Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

We went to Mt. Dora to see the big November antique show. Found Christopher's Inn on Tripadvisor and liked the reviews. We were able to get a room on short notice. Arrived late, 10:00 PM, and Inez stayed up for us. She was very gracious. The rooms were very nice. The Inn is on a quiet street, there is a nice screened porch to sit on, and there is plenty of parking. We stayed two nights and had two WONDERFUL breakfasts.

The only down side was that the mattress in the Jacqueline room was firmer than expected.

“Five Stars Aren't Enough”

We contacted Inez in July for our anniversary weekend in Mt. Dora (Sept 9-11). We had just had a terrible experience booking with another B&B. Inez displayed absolute grace and compassion for our plight and promptly booked our room. No deposit was required and you could just tell from talking to her this was going to be a good experience. Upon arrival on September 9th, after a six-hour drive, we were greeted by Jack and Inez's daughter, Sheila and her husband Dave. What an absolute treat it is to interact with this family! Sheila showed us around the home and we instantly fell in love with it's charm as well as it's owner's southern hospitality. The home was built in 1886 and just feels warm and comfortable. JACK'S DEN (the suite we stayed in) is a separate building from the main structure and offers a complete home away from home experience. Although it was just the two of us (after all it was our anniversary, lol) the suite boasts a king and queen bed, dining set for four, refrigerator, microwave, 42" tv with DVD player, a small divan as well as a rocker and comfy chair for seating, and a beautiful victorian table lamp with a red velvet shade! You certainly will not be disappointed in selecting Jacks' Den for your stay although each of the rooms is warm and inviting!! Breakfast was a full meal even on the two days we were the only guests. The food was outstanding as well as being a different menu each day. The dining area and main house are very welcoming and cozy. As an added bonus you might want to arrange a private carriage ride through "Hitch In Time" (352.255.4903) ... you will NOT be disappointed!! Barbara at HIT arranged for the carriage to pick us up right in the driveway of Christopher's Inn for our anniversary dinner. Inez graciously ageed to pick us up following dinner. We will be back!!

Room Tip: Any of the rooms are comfortable and inviting!

“Great place- nice rooms, comfy beds and short walk to town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2010

Inez and Jack have a really great place. There are 4 guest rooms all decorated in Victorian style to match the rest of this lovely home. They are friendly people glad to give advice on where to go eat, place to see and general advice of the area. The breakfasts both days were great. Sunday's breakfast of pancakes and strawberries was right out of Gourmet magazine. I would stay here again when we visit Mount Dora.
