Spent our wedding anniversary weekend in Mount Dora, which we know well because we live less than an hour away in Orlando. Just wanted to enjoy the town, some good food and each other. Booked the Magnolia Inn as the result of a Groupon special offer and absolutely loved it. Big, beautiful antique home with lovely ground-floor sitting rooms, and hosts Connie and Lori are fun and helpful and make a great breakfast. The historic house is less than a 5-minute walk from the heart of downtown Mount Dora, with its many restaurants, antique shops and other stores, and from the town's lakefront park. Our room was a large, lovely space with original bathroom fixtures (that work just fine). There's an enclosed gazebo in the back with a hot tub in it, but it's also where smokers apparently go when Florida's heavy summer rains drive them indoors, so non-smokers won't want to hang out there. But that didn't detract at all from our stay. We plan to make this a special-occasion getaway.

We recently spent 2 nights at this Inn and it was a wonderful experience. Connie made us feel at home and gave us recommendations for dinner and sightseeing. We stayed in the Carriage House that was wonderful. Breakfast was delicious. The house was decorated beautifully for Christmas.

The Magnolia Inn is definitely well above average as far as B&Bs go. The home is well cared for. Breakfast was great both mornings we were there. The location is perfect, far enough away from the main street to be quiet and peaceful, but within easy walking distance of everything. Connie and Lori are great. I love the coffee service upstairs in the morning and not having to stumble down the stairs half asleep for a cup. Also, the Kuerig machine and cookies make for a great late evening treat.

We stayed in the Magnolia room. The room is large with a very comfortable king bed. The bathroom is sufficient with a tub shower combo. Here lies my only complaint: One of the shower curtains needs replacing because of some mildew at the bottom. Otherwise, a great stay.

My friend and I celebrated her birthday by visiting Mt. Dora and The Magnolia Inn for the Christmas festivities that started Dec. 2. This was the second time I visited Mt. Dora for this event. The Inn was more than expected, the photos didn't do justice. The hostess's Connie and Laurie, and don't forget Sophie, were first class. The accomondations magical, the food superb. And the added gifts and coupons to visit the near by shops a wonderful touch. Don't miss the Garden Gate Tea Room, a ladies delight. We will return. Judy & Dena
