“What a breakfast!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

arrived for a two day stay at the Eden Roc, was able to check in early...nice, its a bit north of south beach so if you want to stay where the night life is, dont stay here. Original reservation was $$, re-booked and canceled original when I found out they had a triple A package, so I ended up joining triple A for $68 bucks but ended up saving $120 over two nights, plus free breakfast. The breakfast at 1500 degrees was unbelievable, you must try even if you are paying for it (full buffet is $26 pp). Had a nice king bed in the resort tower (older building) it was very nice, large and comfortable, with a nice shower. Room was facing over Collins ave and inter-coastal, not bad, but we did not pay nor expect ocean view. Read on trip advisor that sunlight at the pool is lost at 2:00, well its Feb and we lost it at 1:00, at about 1:15 all sunbathers went up to one of the original Eden Rock pools which is located above the outside bar, to get additional sun. Gym is above average, did not see spa, had dinner elsewhere. Had to pay #35 per night for valet, actually tried to park next door at muni lot but at time of check in is was full, seems like a hassle to go and feed meter prior to 8:00 am daily. figured I was on vaca and $$35 a day is a lot, but you pay for parking all over South Beach.

Room Tip: We had a quiet room on 6th floor of resort tower (older), heard newer ocean tower had balconies and...

“charming hotel and incredibly helpful hotel, but showing it's age a bit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were all beyond friendly and helpful. The food and drinks in the bar were affordable and tasty, as was the beach restaurant. The menu at the dining room was a bit fussy and overpriced for my taste. We had some plumbing issues in our room but they were fixed quickly and apologetically. Overall, a positive experience and would be happy to stay here again.

We stayed at the Eden Roc as part of a large group. From the food, customer service, rooms, and location; everything was above my expectations.

“Lovely property in a great location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Stayed here with a group of girlfriends in February and couldn't have picked a better place. We stayed in the new tower and the rooms were really beautiful and modern with clean lines. The balcony was super spacious an had a very comfortable lounge chair big enough for two along with two normal size chairs. We ate breakfast at 1500 once and ate lunch twice poolside. All the food was excellent (though not inexpensive) and the mango mojitos were AMAZING! We were so very impressed with all the hotel staff - VERY friendly and helpful and always willing to give extra help, service and advice. The lobby is impressive, artistic AND comfortable with lots of places to sit. There are 4 swimming pools and TONS of seating along with 2 hot tubs. Also of note was the fantastic location on a beautiful stretch of beach with a nice 1.75 mile boardwalk. Quick taxi ride to South Beach, short drive to Key Biscayne and the airports.

Room Tip: The new tower rooms all have ocean views.

“Great hotel in Miami Beach...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

This was a spectacular first visit to Miami; this hotel ranks among the nicest I have ever visited. Leaving here at the end of my vacation was with great difficulty. Was only there for a short time and will return as soon as possible.

My room was located in the main building as opposed to the "new tower". Many reviewers for this hotel say get the new tower but I saw nothing about the room in the main tower that caused me to think I was short changed by staying there. The main tower appeared newly remodeled and modern, as well as being spacious. The "professional photos" of the hotel don't seem to be up to date and one photo I keep seeing shows the main building only. In reality there is another building that some call the “new tower” right next to the main building. If you can luck out and snag a corner room like I did you can see the intercostal waterway as well as the beach.

There are several restaurants on site but I usually ended up at the beach bar/restaurant for lunch. For a vacation destination the food cost was right in line with what I expected with a lunch with a couple of beers was about 25 American greenbacks without tip was pretty average.

The single item I would ding them on is check-in was a mess and they dropped the ball on what was to be fair a busy day at the hotel. When you arrive if you are told that your room is not ready and you will get a call when it is. My first rule of travel is don't believe the call back line. I think they say this same thing to everyone and I have never gotten a call when my room was ready anywhere not just here. So go back to the desk as often as necessary to ensure you don't “fall through the cracks” which is what happened to me. Once check-in was completed it was smooth sailing for me the rest of the trip. On the other side of the coin the maids do not bother you early in the morning like other hotels so that may account for the slowness at check-in and lack of available rooms. This is something I really liked about this hotel I have been to many hotels where you get a 7 to 8 am wake-up call from housekeeping that you did not order. So in this case the is some balance to the chaos that is check-in.

Parking here was not a hassle, and at 35 bucks a day it did not seem out of line with what should be expected at a vacation resort. One thing I will say about it was it was very convenient. While I considered using the public parking lot which is past the hotel on the right it did not provide the convenience of just dropping the keys off and getting back to the reason I visited the area in the first place.

Another obvious but not to be diminished feature is being right on the beach. Once you are in the hotel not much else besides the boardwalk stands between you and the beaches and the ocean. So you are probably saying are you kidding me that a beach hotel has a beach. Really? Kidding aside I have visited hotels that claim to be beach hotels and their idea of a beach was a postage stamp into comparison to this hotel's beach area. Their beach is a good sized area that gradually disappears into the ocean. It is not like some beaches I have visited were it was a steep 45 degree angle right into the water. In January the area was in the 80's sunny, warm and not unusual to see a bikini clad beach-goer which did seem unusual for someone who spends the vast majority of the winter in Atlanta. The boardwalk is a nice excursion all on its own and seems to travel endlessly behind all of the hotels on the beach in Miami.

All in all I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Miami Beach area. My stay was exactly what a winter vacation should be – relaxing and quiet.
