We were pleasantly surprised with everything. The room was small(but it is south beach) very clean with nice room towels; beach chairs and towels. The staff was wonderful. Breakfast was included! The location ideal. What more could you want?!

I stayed here with my partner for three nights during September 2011. We were extremely happy with all aspects of our stay.
Service received was great. Staff were very helpful. The small touches like offering to take your wet towels after a visit to the beach or offering cups of fruit in the morning really added to the experience. Breakfast was included too and although there wasn't a lot to choose from the food was nice.
The rooms were very nice and appeared to have been recently renovated. We were initially given a room at the back of the hotel but moved to an ocean view room after the first night. Both were great however we actually preferred the room at the back of the hotel. It seemed bigger and it was definitely much quieter.
Location was excellent. Right in the heart of the art deco district of South Beach. It is very touristy but has a nice charm to the place. Feels like it has more character than the modern high rises further up the beach.
Overall I would highly recommend the Beacon Hotel for a trip to South Beach.

We had a wonderful stay at the Beacon Hotel. Everything there happily surprised us... The location was perfect, right in the center of the South Beach action. None of the noise could be heard up in our room on the 5th floor. The room was fantastic, spacious and clean and plenty of space for the 3 of us. The service at the hotel went above and beyond our expectations. Everyone who worked there was so friendly and helpful, it was a pleasure staying there. The breakfast included was just right, we really enjoyed it. Would definitely stay there again on our next trip (in fact, we look forward to it) and would highly recommend this place to everyone!

It was a nice hotel with a great bed, tiny but fine bathroom (with a frosted glass door that I thought was a bit odd), and one really slow elevator. Service was great and the breakfast was clean and yummy. One evening on a walk to dinner at Spiga (great Italian place a few blocks walk), we passed the Tides hotel. If you can afford it, stay there. It looked fantastic. We had some drinks outside and the service there was top-notch. If I were going back to Miami beach, I'd likely stay at The Tides. All that said, the Beacon suited us just fine. The only peculiar thing to report is that the flat rate for a taxi to the hotel from the airport was $33, while the van the hotel arranged (instead of calling us a taxi) back to the airport was $36.
