My girlfriend and I booked this hotel from Travelocity after reading all of the "good" reviews. Within 5 minutes of checking in, we knew we were in trouble - all of the "good" reviews were probably fake. I've traveled all over the world and have stayed in some pretty run-down places in Europe and Asia, but this is absolutely the worst experience that I have encounted.
There were so many problems with this hotel I can't list them all (paper thin walls, dirty room, small, outdated, rude staff, check-in time was later than 4pm). But I will tell you, when we were checking out we told the front desk how bad the stay was, they said "since you booked through travelocity, the room is prepaid, and we can't do anything, sorry." There are too many other hotels in south beach, don't waste your time with this one.
The manager Stuart seems more interested in responding to bad reviews here on TripAdvisor instead of fixing his run-down hotel. So I'll wait for him to respond to this.

Jason,
I am very sorry that you and your lady friend were disappointed with your stay and that we did not have the chance to meet to discuss your visit. Our property is exactly how we promote it - as authentic, restored art deco - and, as so many other "real" reviewers have commented: they appreciate both our friendly service and the product that we offer (at very reasonable rates in an extraordinary location). We are constantly upgrading our property and enhancing our services; and provide a wonderful guest experience for most of our vistors and have a loyal, repeat following. We are sorry that you did not appreciate the special and unique character of our historic property.
