First, for the price, I was surprised at the size. It was much larger than I imagined. As a frequent bargain traveler, I was very satisfied with what I received for my money. Sure, it was a little rough around the edges: could use a paint job, shower didn't stay hot for very long, minor things. But I loved having a little kitchen and a huge couch. It's a little isolated, but there are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. I'm definitely not complaining about the backyard beach either. Overall, I would highly recommend for a budget traveler who wants to eat good food and hang out on the beach.

I never knew that my stay at Miami Beach was going to be so pleasant; surprise!!! the
Crystal Hotel had what I wanted; right on the beach, it has a kitchen, plates, refrigerator,
microwave and everything a family will need. (even though, I don't cook but I had everything).
plus, across the streets you have so many restaurants, different choices and cheap. between ten to fifteen dollars, for all pockets. four blocks away there is a Walgreens, for water etc.
I totally like the location, there is a ihop near by, mcdonalds, subway etc. there is a lot to do
and explore around there. not to mention is 10 away from south beach taking the beach-max bus,for two dollars. also going downtown is 30 minutes. I did not use the swimming pool since
on december is kind of cool .

First of all they try to lure you to their awful place with cheap rates on coupons that do not apply in reality. We had a coupon to stay there for 60 dollar a night and ended up paying 100... In their defense this was not the first place we encountered on our trip through Florida that used false advertising. Most hotels/motels however do have a little disclaimer that says "applies to limited rooms upon availability" In reality even when all rooms are available they will claim that the cheap rooms are fully booked...

This add had none of those disclaimers and their shoddy explanation was that since we had access to the gym and had a safe in our room we should pay 40 dollar more...

By saying: In our country, false advertising is illegal, the clerk said: You're not in your country, you're in America...

Room was filthy and old, mold in the bathroom, promised wifi didn't work. Television must have been installed by a drunk cable guy... A previous unhappy customer had played around with a hot iron and left several impressions all over the interior.

Somewhere in the room you'll find a paper with the complete inventory of the place. When you arrive you should do a complete inventory of the room, they won't tell you that when you check in. We found that paper right before checkout. We quickly did the inventory right before checkout and found out that several items were missing. When you check-in they will take 100 dollar from your credit card as a deposit. So now i'm carefully watching my credit card...

DO NOT go there! It is a complete rip-off and a discrace for every value America stands for!

My husband and I stayed at Crystal beach for 3 nights July/Aug 2011 and wouldn't have stayed another night. It was just conveniently located by the beach, with gym, restaurants and groceries nearby. The pool was just plain awful with water so dirty they closed it down the next day. The hot tub/jaccuzi by the pool was closed. Toilet didn't flush properly, water knobs don't work in the shower, couldn't keep warm water for long, our phone didn't work, and we could only use one of the 2 burners to cook. The entire hotel smells like mold. Locals come in during the weekend and sneak their family/friends by the pool door. The entire pool area then becomes a "Cubaneo"! My advice: spend the extra bucks and go somewhere else!
