We arrived to a lobby full of construction workers and a lot of noise. Our room on the top floor had NO door out to the patio up there so the heat poured in. Our rooms were newly renovated and while they were small they were adequate. Showers had no place for soap or shampoo so you had to pick them up off the floor. The phones didnt work so when we had an issue we had to take the elevator that took about 8-10 minutes each time to arrive down to give our request. We were only there one night but they really should have given us warning that this hotel was under construction. They had a breakfast in the am that was adequate but didnt really make up for the POUNDING that occured at 7:30 am RIGHT outside our door. It made for an uncomfortable morning, when we wanted to sleep in on our vacation. Thankfully we were only there one night...I think it has the potential to be a cute place once construction is complete but beware if you are going anytime soon.

Thankfully, we only stayed here for one night before we were leaving on a cruise the next day. On the positive side.....the location is good. It's on Ocean Drive, but a couple blocks from all the commotion, which made for less street noise. Still very close to where all the action is. The staff was pleasant and the continental breakfast was nice. On the downside......the rooms are quite small....maybe not by European standards, but by U.S. standards. We were lucky to have one of the newly renovated rooms on the top floor, so it was very nice and clean. The beds were comfortable with feather pillows. We had an ocean view, but the windows were so dirty on the outside, it was pretty much of a blur. The worst part was that the hotel is under renovation. The workmen didn't start making noise until about 9AM, but when the saws and jackhammers started in.....it was deafening!! This is what we listened to all thru breakfast. And....the workmen were loading stuff in/out of the one and only elevator, so we either waited forever for the elevator....or mostly chose to walk up 6 flights. I'm guessing that this renovation will be continuing for quite sometime, so beware.

This is a small art deco hotel, not a 5 star all amenity hotel, if you want 5 star go to the Delano or likewise and pay 5 star rates.

The rooms are small but workable and most importantly they are clean! nice staff, I dont have any complaints about our stay, you can do MUCH worse in Miami.....the location is almost unbeatable, its right on ocean drive about a block from the main part hub of Ocean party scene and restuarants so your right there but far enough down the road to not have to listen to a bunch of noise once you do head in for the night. If you want 5 star with all the bells and whistles this probably isnt the hotel for you but if you want somewhere funky, chic pleasant, unpretentious and clean its a safe bet.

The phones in the rooms didnt the entire time 6 days we were there. There was no laundry room, No ice machine you had to go down to the ground floor and ask for ice. No pools or hot tubs. No work out room. No computer room or confrence room. No pop machines. No Fridge or Micro wave in rooms. Elevator broke down 1/2 the days we were there, and when they were working we had to share them with construction. Construction went on the entire time we were there. The plus items were that it did have a beautiful view from our room. However walking up 5 flights of stairs with whatever you bought that day and thru the construction on 2 of the floors was not good for business.
